What a priviledge to camp under those desert stars. Wow! Having a private ablution and kitchen is a great plus for the price we paid. We will go there again! The shop stocked all the relevant goods. Prices are steep...but expected. A number of guys fixed their tyres just outside the shop.
We were there in june 2019, top position for sossusvlei gate, clean, well organized, kindly people, we have lot of great memories in this place! Ther's also a super market and a gasoline station......
Very nice to stay. Very well organised. The only problem is the road to the site is not well maintained. the surrounding area is definitely worth the drive. The camping site is very clean and will definitely visit again
georgious view on mountains, dunes, sunrise and sunset possebility to have exellent breakfast (or every dish you want, we choose breakfast) and sundowner at the hotel wooden roof for shade provides a bathroom for every space
I made a prepaid reservation in September of 2018 for 2 nights in June 2019. One of the nights in private camping and the other in group camping. When we arrived, a receptionist told us that feeling very sorry but all the private places were occupied and we would have to spend the 2 nights in the group, but the next day we would compensate the difference by returning the money, or buying anything in the market. The next day they were all excuses, they did not give us back the money and in the market we could only take wood, ice and bread, things that we do not need ... So in the end we paid for accommodation and services that we did not have and the camp did not want to pay the difference. There are better options in the area.
Very nice Campsite with 12 places around a circle, each with a shaded sitting area, own bathroom, hot water (solar) and enough space to the neighbors. In the middle of the circle is a small swimming pool.
Reception was very friendly and helpful....especially a guy with the name of Max...The camp site was clean with nice private ablutions and enough warm water. Service of campsites during the day was excellent. Will definately revisit this campsite again
Incredible camping site; well maintained and very cleaned, safe, well guarded and most of all superb location adjacent to the entrance of the park. Difficult to book since us very high on demand but we were lucky enough to get our spot. We were supposed to arrive in the afternoon that day but our interesting and worthwhile visit to Kolmanskop delayed us from arriving during daylight and avoid driving at night through the wilderness. Upon arrival by 9:00pm there was s guard waiting for us at the entrance, which was so comforting and reassuring. The camp had its own ablutions too but not much of hot water, although who needs it when temperatures are really high during the day? We also profited from the convenience store, gas station, tyre repare shop, and restaurant; also Sossusvlei Lodge across from the campsite provides excellent service for activities such scenic flights and helicopter flights over the region and offers s perfect buffet restaurant too. We loved it. Thumbs up pals.
The camp site was just as expected, clean and operational to the largest extent. Sink plug was only thing not really working. Roads to Sossus are really awful, but that is not your fault. Pool was nice to cool off in.
I was really impressed with this campsite. We had our own shaded area with sink, shower (with hot water) and toilet. There was a pool in the middle which we used and was delightful after a hot day trekking up big daddy. Stayed for 2 nights total. The shop had some stuff in but I’d recommend doing a proper shop in Windhoek (or swakopmund if coming that way)beforehand as it is somewhat limited. Staff were very friendly. Only downside and why I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because we were close to a road and so had the dust thrown at us each time a car went past. I’d recommend asking for campsites 4-6 for the best spot (away from the road with the best night time view).
