Beautiful old stone villa with private pool & spectacular view, very peaceful

Le Rayol is a carefully renovated (early 2000s) natural stone villa standing in 15 acres of terraced olive-groves, maritime pine trees and grass. Additional renovations are planned for spring 2025. The house faces south-east and the house-front and terraced patio (for 'al fresco' meals!) are covered. Here you will find peace and quiet, summer breezes, carrying the scent of lavender, thyme, rosemary and pine, and a 'forever' view to die for.
In the white washed clear and simple decor of the house you will also find some family antiques. The windows have wooden shutters on the inside and out. There is a 11x5 m outdoor private swimming-pool and a breathtaking open view over the hills towards the sea. The house also adjusts well for 2 people. There are no immediate neighbours. Shaded parking. Outdoor furniture provided. New kitchen in 2025. No parasol due to wind, but the olive tree by the pool provides shade.
Please note that the last 800 metres of road to the property is not tarred and its condition varies depending on the weather. One has to drive carefully to avoid small rock protrusions. No need for 4x4 vehicles. WiFi internet is available from mid-May to end of September.
The villa is soundproofed and features a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 4 bedrooms. Guests can expect to find free WiFi. The bathroom offers hair dryers and bidets. Other standard amenities include a private pool, a washing machine, and a fireplace. Housekeeping is available on request.

tranquil and soothing stay in comfortable authentic house

The characteristic, comfortable, old house is located in the remains of an olive grove surrounded by woodland. The view is calming, the pool refreshing. Nice walks from the property.

De chouettes vacances

Nous voulions une jolie maison qui donne l'impression d'être coupés du monde pour passer de chouettes vacances. Nous l'avons trouvée. En pleine nature, ce mas rustique nous a séduit au point de le louer pour la 2ème année consécutive. Il a du cachet, les chambres sont agréables, il est propre et bien tenu. La vue est imprenable et la piscine est top. Et Sebastian ,le propriétaire ,est à l'écoute et très réactif. Profitez!!

A wonderful house in a beautiful place

A wonderful house in a beautiful place; sitting amongst olive terraces, with a fine vista looking east over wooded Provencal hills with no other house or road in sight. Also, it’s set in a clearing in the woods at the end of a very long drive so is very quiet and completely private, but not isolated, the hilltop village of Seillans is a 15 minute drive away and has a really excellent restaurant on its cobbled square. The house itself is comfortable, well equipped, elegant and the owner is pleasant and helpful. It is special, and we couldn’t have been happier there.

A Gem

This our second visit to this villa, which is unprecedented for us. If you like rural and quiet, but the luxury of a well appointed house and wonderful pool with lovely views, then this is it. The only disturbance you will get will be the very discrete pool cleaner once per week, the drifting gliders and the occasional sound of various friendly wildlife. You can walk into Seillans (typical hill top town), which takes about 40 minutes, so you are not completely cut off from civilisation. There is a Michelin star restaurant there, which is very good (and not too expensive). The walk is through the ancient trees that surround the villa for miles and is well worth doing. You are in easy reach of Monte Carlo, Antibes, Nice etc and you have all the amenities that you would need within a relatively short drive. The 'road' to the villa is a hoot, so best leave the Lamborghini at home.... the little Peugeot that we had coped admirably. Importantly Sebastian is the perfect owner and gentleman - always responds to emails and is extremely helpful. We will be going back again.

Wonderfully secluded and private villa yet 15 minutes from civilisation

Spent 2 beautiful weeks enjoying the peace and quiet of this lovely villa. Fantastic pool and views and no sounds other than birds and crickets. The villa is spacious and well furnished with all the facilities we needed including wi-fi for the children Seillans has 3 very good restaurants, a small supermarket, bars, boulangerie and a pizza take-away. Slightly further afield Fayence and Bargemon offer more restaurants, bars and facilities and very easy to get everything you could possibly need. Plenty of sights to visit on days out and we would thoroughly recommend the villa and the area for a memorable French holiday. The owner was extremely helpful and easy to deal with and everything went very smoothly.

Excellent and comfortable house in superb natural surrounding, absolute calm.

The traditional house is well equipped, including WiFi, and even when the weather is bad, staying inside is quite pleasant. The owner has an interesting collection of German, English en French books in his library. The attractive terraced terrain with its old stone walls (restanques) and beautiful olive trees is surrounded by a forest with paths for walking in every direction. One small caveat: the long and winding gravel road to the house is not suitable for cars having a clearance less than 10cm. With absolute 100% privacy and a splendid view this is a great place for those who want to really relax. The nearby village of Seillans is friendly and attractive with 2 good restaurants and a modest supermarket. The communications with the owner as well as with the housekeeper went very well and provided all information required.

Schönes abgelegenes Ferienhaus

Das Haus liegt etwas ausserhalb und hat eine herrliche Aussicht über die bewaldeten Berge. Nachts ist es sehr ruhig, man hört nichts. Da es keine Lichtverschmutzung gibt, kann man sehr gut die Sterne beobachten. Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt.

Charmante, ruhig und traumhaft gelegene Steinvilla in der Provence

Le Rayol ist traumhaft und sehr ruhig gelegen. Wer Ruhe sucht, der wird sie genau dort finden. Die jeweilige An- und Abfahrt erfordert auf den letzten ca. 2-3 Kilometern bei Gegenverkehr und auf den letzten 800 m unbefestigter Wegfläche gute Nerven, ist jedoch machbar. Ein tiefer gelegter Sportwagen ist auf der unbefestigten Wegefläche wohl nicht das hierfür besonders geeignete Verkehrsmittel, Allradantrieb ist nicht erforderlich. Das alte und gut ausgestattete Steinhaus hat seinen eigenen Charme. Der Blick, insbesondere in Poolnähe ist toll. Wir, ein Pärchen, haben Mitte bis Ende September 2023 auf Le Rayol sehr angenehme Zeit verbracht. Lohnend ist ein Besuch im nahe gelegenen Seillans, dort kann auch im Chez Hugo eine gute Alltagsküche bei zugewandter Bedienung genießen. Neben vielen anderen Orten, wie Fayence, insbesondere an Markttagen, ist in der Nähe das authentische Bergdorf Mons besonders hervorzuheben. Weiter weg lohnt u.a. das Örtchen Cotignac am Markttag (Dienstag) und dort in der Nähe die Cascade von Sillans.

Urlaub zwischen Wildschweinen und Rehen

Hier gibt es französische Bäuerlicher Idylle. Abgeschieden vom Jetset leben. Wer absolute Ruhe und einen Ort zum Abschalten sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Der Außenbereich mit Pool ist großzügig angelegt und die Örtlichkeit ist so abgelegen, dass man keine Bedenken haben muss, unter Beobachtung zu stehen.

Simply perfect!

My wife and I and our 4 kids, (6, 11, 15 and 17yo) spent a week in July at this beautiful house. We found the house to exceed our expectations. We've stayed in many summer houses throughout the years and we rate this house as undoubtably one of the absolute best. The location on the hill side surrounded by the trees gives the feeling of total isolation. The 10m pool was very clean and perfect for cooling down in and for the kids to splash around in for hours each day. The kitchen was well equipped and relatively cool. The house is furnished with quite a lot of antique pieces but we were mostly only inside to sleep or make food. All bedrooms have an adjacent bathroom which was extremely convenient considering how many people we are in our family. We ate out a couple of times in Seillans, both were excellent experiences. Cannes is about 60 minute drive and worth a visit. There's a small supermarket in Seillans for essentials but a larger one in Fayance (13 min drive). We felt very welcomed by Sebastian, the property owner and was immediately responsive by email when necessary. We highly recommend this house.

Haus in Alleinlage

Wir haben eine sehr schöne Woche im Haus in Südfrankreich verbracht. Es gibt insgesamt 4 Schlafzimmer (eines davon auf der Galerie) mit je einem eigenen Bad mit Dusche und WC, das war sehr praktisch. Das Grundstück ist in Alleinlage mit Pool, man sieht keine Nachbarn, sehr ruhig, wunderbar. Anfahrt von Seillans circa 20min über zum Teil Schotterstraße, daher etwas weitere Wege überall hin.

Superbe maison dans les bois

Très belle demeure isolée que l'on atteint au bout d'une route non revêtue. Au grand calme, vielles pierres, mobilier ancien, très bonne literie... Des pièces joliment décorées, sur plusieurs niveaux. Annonce conforme avec la réalité. Très bon accueil d'Amel et très bon contact avec le propriétaire. Nous n'avons vons pas utilisé la piscine car nous sommes venus fin octobre. Nous recommandons cette location.

Wunderschöner Ort

Hat man den abenteuerlichen Weg zur Liegenschaft geschafft, erwarten einen ein tolles Haus, ein grossen Pool und eine fantastische Landschaft mit grandioser Aussicht. Der Weg an die Küste der Côte d’Azur ist etwas aufwändig, aber wer nicht unbedingt ans Meer will, ist in le Rayole gut aufgehoben. Wir haben die Abgeschiedenheit genossen.

Mooie locatie volledige privacy

Wij verbleven in dit huis met ons gezin met 3 kinderen en hebben genoten. Het zwembad is 10 meter lang. Het huis ligt midden in een bos waar je via een hobbelige weg van 1 km naar toe gaat maar dan kom je dus bij het huis met volledige privacy. Prijs kwaliteit is prima.

Ein Paradies in der Provence

Zwei Wochen (Ende August / Anfang September 2018) haben wir Eltern mit 3 Kindern eine wunderbare Zeit in diesem phantastischen Anwesen verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, der Standard ist hoch und es bietet einen entsprechenden Komfort. Ob im Haus oder zwischen Freisitz, Poolbereich und unter Olivenbäumen findet jeder seinen Platz zum Lesen, Chillen, Relaxen oder auch arbeiten (wenn es sich nicht vermeiden lässt - die Anbindung an die moderne Kommunikation funktioniert sehr gut). Die Abgeschiedenheit - man hört wirklich kein Zivilisationsgeräusch - und die phantastische Aussicht machen die Lage sehr attraktiv und garantieren nachhaltige Erholung. Ganztägig ist auf Grund der Plateaulage bei entsprechendem Wetter Sonne garantiert und man sollte sich viel Zeit für den Blick in die Weite erlauben, es ist hochgradig entspannend. Auf Grund der Lage kann man aber nicht erwarten, dass die Versorgungswege kurz sind, wobei wir diese für Frankreich als normal beizeichnen würden. Viele Ausflüge zu interessanten Plätze in und rund um Nizza, Cannes, Antibes, Frejus, etc. sind in angemessener Zeit möglich, das Meer und schöne Strände sind in ca. 45 min. erreichbar Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können uns vorstellen, wiederzukommen.
