Finding the hotel and dropping off luggage by was complicated and parking difficult, as well.
A very nice and comfortable hotel, right next to the Plaza Mayor. very friendly and helpful staff. A very nice room, very comfortable. Only problem that we had were with two large heavy suitcases and two sets of stairs.
The hotel was located in a great part of town. The rooms were a bit run down but clean. The beds were extremely hard. There was one staff member, a younger gal that was pretty rude when we asked questions at the front desk. The buffet breakfast was overpriced.
The staff were friendly and helpful with suggestions, they have a nice room to store luggage if you want to explore a bit more on your last day and the location can't get much (or any) better. The negative? Everything costs extra. The parking adds between 13-19 euros and if you want to use the spa, add another 20. Overall, I would recommend the hotel.
First let me say that Segovia is one of the prettiest cities in spain and must not be missed. Also, don't miss the down of Granja (spelling#. It is only 10 miles south and has the most incredible large garden with fountains. It looks like Versailles in france. This hotel is right next to the plaza mayor see can easily visit the sites and restaurants. Room is small as is all of Europe and bed is very firm. Parking is the biggest problem. Just to find the hotel requires you to park in the plaza mayor and walk to the front #you can not drive up to the front door). The you have to park about 10 minute walk away. I recommend this hotel if you want to be close to all the fun, just allow extra time for parking and moving luggage.
While the room was fairly small, the bathroom was huge! It was clean, well-furnished and comfortable. The hotel staff were very helpful.
Great hotel show as a 4 star online but is actually a 3 star. But great location you can walk to all attractions of Segovia within 5-10 minute walk. Wi-fi only worked in lobby.
The hotel was listed as a four star? Well, maybe two at best. It was fine, room was small, clean, decor fairly hideous. Staff was nice, food prices high. Clean, close to everything you'd want in Segovia. But certainly nothing special.
The Casa Mudejar in Segovia was charming--great atmosphere, great location. We ate dinner in the dining room there which featured the roast suckling pig, a local specialty, and also traditional Sephardic cuisine. People trying to drive to Casa Mudejar should know that the central location, right off the Plaza Major, means that one must ascend through a confusing series of narrow, medieval streets to get to the hotel -- no mean feat in a minivan, drop one's bags and then park elsewhere and walk back. It will be a nice walk but the drive is somewhat nerve wracking although one immediately gets flavor of the ancient city. Our only other complaint is that our room, while nicely appointed, had some kind of perpetual knocking noise during the night, the source of which we could not locate. Had we been less exhausted from a long day of driving, we would have investigated this with the front desk. The staff was very helpful and might have been able to remedy the problem. As it was, we didn't sleep so well. I would stay at the Casa Mudejar again, in a different room.
