Hotel Deca

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Pleasant little room, professional responsive staff. However, the room was cold and the thermostat was a "feel good" device connected to nothing. I had to ask for a blanket and my hands were cold while typing.

Excellent location. My King size room is clean and comfy.

The hotel staff was welcoming and friendly. When we forgot an expensive item in the room, The housekeeping department quickly shipped the item to us.

I resent a mandatory "resort fee" added when this not a resort. Better to be upfront about total charge and include it in the room charge

For A B-Grade hotel, it was nice. Friendly staff, Clean Rooms, but the room service needs a lot of work. For example; Ordered breakfast. Eggs/Oatmeal - Did not provide salt and pepper, no sweetener for Oatmeal and the crunchy oat topping was rancid.

Excellent staff and comfortable stay for my week in Seattle. Great bar onsite with amazing food!

Nice hotel. Very clean. Older hotel but nicely updated to today standards. I would recommend this hotel.

Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable . Price was right.

I was booked in on the Sky Level... Looking at the photos I assumed "Alright." Wrong. Its a 15-story building the "Sky Level" starts at floor six. I was on Seven. My view was a homeless man sleeping on the roof of an adjoining building. The rest of the views were other roofs. The fitness room is a tight as the photograph on the flyer. For the room rate, this is a major disappointment. My keys kept deactivating. That was a complete pain in the derriere! Up and down up and down. Everyones dream. As for the rooms, the bathrooms are older and cramped (I guess I was not sharing a bathroom down the hall so something to be grateful for.) The rooms themselves were sparse and appear the have been designed by the bell-hop. No thought at all out into the layout, use and furniture needs. I needed a desk for work. It was glass and the chair may have been picked up from a "yard-sale." The beds were old, soft and uncomfortable. This is clearly a hotel that is being milked as hard as possible. There is no money being reinvested into the rooms, the elevators or the lobby. The bar in the basement was shabby, and they (not surprising) had NO top shelf drinks. One can always judge a bar by their bourbons. This would score a one out of ten on this count. The lobby was quant in a forced "Art Deco" style. The hotel itself looked from the 1970s. Frankly there were two people completely passed out in the Lobby away from the front desk one day. That was pleasant to see.

This hotel is not far away from the UW campus. It is also very convenient for shopping and dining because it is near to the University Way. I like the lobby of Deca, where is full of books and comfortable couch. But the room I lived is too small, both the restroom and living room. I don't know why the closet is too big. It seems like the structure of the hotel is weird. May be because my room is in a conner. Generally, I like this hotel. The people there is so nice. Living there is a good memory.

great place -- close to everything , no bellman at the hotel, however.

Great hotel! Staff very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to lots of restaurants because its near University of Washington. Great restaurant downstairs in the basement.

My wife and I stayed here for the weekend while visiting friends and really enjoyed the hotel. All the staff were very friendly, the room was clean and plenty roomy, and the bed was quite comfortable.

For the price the room was fairly empty. No coffee pot or refrigerator. Lobby and main floor was very nice. Room was OK. Transportation was difficult to the city. If you want to go downtown you should stay there it would be worth the money.

My sister who's lived here for more than 25 years invited us to have Thanks Giving with her. She suggested a place closer to her in University area but Deca was just as close and less the cost for the season. Love the décor of the place. Room was cozy, comfortable and clean. Easy access to food, shopping and transportation. We found a wonderful Udon restaurant around the corner and excellent food at restaurant and coffee shop downstairs. We'll definitely stay here again.

It was a very nice hotel, generally, and close to many small restaurants, since it was located next to the university. I did not appreciate the $15/day facility fee that was added when I checked out. This supposedly covered a recent renovation, free WI-FI, neswspapers, apples, water bottles, etc., all of which I could have done without had I know I was going to be charged extra for them. I felt that this was a very poor decision on their part to add this fee at checkout.

Hotel rated high without a real restaurant (bar serving food). High cost near UW but nothing else. No fridge, could get one for add'l $15, windows not clean so gave unclean feeling in room, otherwise room was clean. Nothing extra...minimal. for $300. two person per night.

!00 on the staff..helpful in many ways! The room was just a room..no coffeemaker..one bar of soap and nothing else. We were upgraded from the 2nd floor to the 8th floor with a view so no complaints there.

The room at first clance was great. Great location & awesome front desk staff. The room wasn't clean sadly, this put a damper on our stay.
