Room basic, clean. Found it cold in the evening although heating in room. door didn’t shut very well so there was a slight gap, this may of been the problem. As a cheap base for outdoors people it would be ideal. Friendly staff who greeted us. Location ideal for village where there are takeaways and restaurants. Short walk.
The room was small, with very little space for luggage. I was staying alone.
It had been recently decorated; I picked up on the feint smell of drying paint and some new decor. Had there been four, or eight people staying (as advertised), it would have been extremely uncomfortable for all.
The bunk beds were mid-way between single and double; quite close together. The noise coming from fluid in pipes along with a constant low-frequency tone/drone would have made it impossible to sleep. Do they have an air pump? I complained by VM quieter after I’d been out; no response to my VM.
I watched the TV sat on the bed as from as the table/chair directly under the TV would have been uncomfortable. The bed sunk considerably when any weight was put on it.
The room was cold. My phone displayed 9C. Radiator was stone cold.
I was going to get a shower but realised, no towels.
I was going to have a cup of tea but all of the tea making facilities were in the kitchen down the way, except oddly a kettle had been left in the room?
Went to bed at 11PM; woke up sweating through the duvet at 03:30; then the rain and wildlife kicked in. I decided to leave at 05:30AM, and travel the nearly 550 miles home.
Needless to say, I will not be staying there again.
Visitors pay decent money to proprietors who expect their visitors to put up with conditions they would not do themselves when they stay away from home.
Quite annoyed to be honest.
