We were very happy with our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was big, clean and convenient. I wish we had more than one day in town. The hotel was close to town and on the river which made for good morning walks.
We didn't know what to expect getting an apartment, but this place is awesome. We had a separate bedroom with a living room, kitchen, bathroom and full laundry. There's also a pull out sofa. There's a secluded patio and designated parking spots for each apartment. Though the apartments are separate, you still have access to the bar & restaurant in the main building. Great choice!
I had a very nice Saturday lunch in the well appointed restaurant with friends. We chose the two course option for under £12 a head which was pretty good value. The meal was lovely, service friendly and efficient too. My only tiny negative would be that although the food was good there was a complete lack of any additional vegetables provided,so the fish on mash was basically just that, with a few peas incorporated in the mushroom sauce. The tart dessert was amazing.
We have a corporate event each year in Inverness and always chose the Glenmoriston. The staff and service are second to none. The hotel is lovely and impeccably maintained. The food is terrific. What more could one want? Oh yes, beautiful views of the Ness and a great location.
I had a great time in this guest house during a two-night stay, as I participated in a bus tour of the highlands. The host was attentive (tried to accommodate guests and serve breakfast earlier when needed), and the room was clean and modern. I also appreciated the delicious ginger cookies and tea he provided in the room. I personally am always weary about selecting B&Bs as there is such a range of experiences to be had, but as someone who has traveled in 5-star hotels, I would highly recommend this little art-deco style house if you're planning a stay in Inverness.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Glenmoriston. We had an enormous room with a view of the river. We even had a golf practice mat to use in our room! The bed was huge and extremely comfortable and the curtains provided almost complete black out so we had a perfect night's sleep each night. Breakfast was very good and the meal we had in the hotel restaurant was also excellent although we were a little disappointed that we were unable to order the fillet steak as a large party had ordered just before we arrived. However, the duck we both chose was divine so we were happy. Our only problem with the hotel was that we didn't want to leave at the end of our stay!
My husband and I originally were assigned a room above the foot of the stairs in the Windsor Suite building. There c was to be a wedding reception in the rooms at the foot of the stairs and Aly successfully moved us to a room in the main building. The v room had been recently uPdated which was lovely but it smelled musty. We found it to be quiet and had a nice peek at the River .
We’d booked two nights in a executive room, with dinner in the restaurant both nights. Arrived and greeted fine but we started to have worries when the route to our room took us along a corridor with dirty carpet and up some stairs with worn tread, a strange room under the eaves which caused some difficulty getting in and out of the bath for two 70 year olds. The paint pealing from the ceiling didn’t help. The restaurant needs some looking at, especially at breakfast. Had to ask for orange juice, bread and butter as all were not available. No green tea at all. Dinner was well cooked but why turn the lights down so far that you can’t see what you are eating and why supply dips for the bread but no bread. All told a bit of a disaster which the manager tried to appease with a round of free drinks. But with noisy groups and the tired room not for us in the future. For the price poor.
Visited Glenmoriston hotel for 2 nite stay. Situated next to the river and only few minutes walk to the centre of town. Has lovely piano bar. Booked a river view room bit expensive, think maybe due to the October school week hols. Room was tastefully furnished with comfy bed and seating area and nice big bathroom. Staff were welcoming and friendly. All in all we enjoyed our stay.
If visiting Inverness give this place a try. Every thing about the place excels from the friendly professional staff to the absolutely fabulous food. If you can't get a room at least try and get a table in the restaurant you won't be disappointed.will definitely be staying here again
