My husband and I booked in here for two nights. The first night we had bed and breakfast, it cost £99. On the second night we had dinner bed and breakfast. That was £220. We had the taster menu. We could not find any faults with the food at all. It was all so nice. We were not rushed, having time to chat and relax between each plate of food. What was nice was once you were seated in the restaurant, the table was yours. The breakfast was as nice as the evening meal food. Hot fresh tasty, good quality food. The only problem we found, was they only sold one beer. And as my husband is a beer drinker and would have liked a choice of at least two or three different kinds of beer. Also they had a great selection of wine. But the cheapest bottle they had was £30. Makes it an expensive evening. But it did not spoil our stay. The rooms are small but bright and clean. With a nice bathroom and comfortable bed. It was quite and peaceful. A lovely place to relax. Would we go back. Yes we would. But maybe next time we would only stay the one night. And we would do the tasting menu again. I would definitely recommend the horseshoe inn restaurant with rooms. The icing on the cake are the lovely staff. So warm and friendly. They work so hard to make your stay a good one. Also you don't have to stay at the inn to eat there. So if your in the area and want a great meal. Give it a try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

It has been a while so we thought we would revisit, started with a half bottle of champagne served with lovely canapes, treated ourselves to the ten course tasting menu with wines. Interesting enough, chef showing off his various skills and techniques, some lovely dishes others nice but not to our taste. Wines again off our normal taste spectrum. Next time we will revert to the al-la-carte and really enjoy whatever we select from the menu. Really enjoyed the breakfast, and thanks to Horseshoe for the complimentary room upgrade. It will not be so long before our next return. Service as always impeccable by all who attended on us.

This small restart with rooms is a delight both for the food and the service. Our taster menu was a culinary adventure and introduced us to new wines and flavours. The food was presented in an eye catching way that engaged your taste buds before you even started to eat. This will not be our last visit. Rooms are comfortable and decorated in a country house fashion. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and helped to make a special occasion even better.

Been here twice, the food is AMAZING! We found it by chance and then returned with family especially. Its an overall amazing experience, food lover's dream and amazing location for a weekend retreat. We had the taster menu with wine pairing! The staff made us feel so special and at home but also stood back to give us space to enjoy the delights! They kindly arranged taxi collection back to our accommodation. Next time I hope we can stay over too.

Staying in the area, we had received a recommendation to try the horseshoe restaurant and I have to admit we had no idea the quality of restaurant we were going to. What a delightful experience. The meal was quite the best I have ever had. The staff were delightful and we had a lovely evening. A warm and welcoming atmosphere. Can't wait to come back at some point.

We've just eaten our way through a 16 course taster menu which was supposed to be 10 but the chef wanted to let us experience more so decided to add to the experience. Great use of meats, fish, vegetables and deserts accompanied by well selected wines, some great gin and whiskey to finish the night off. Staff were extremely attentive and friendly and I will be recommending to friends the first chance I get. If you like fine dining, this is a great place to try. Wishing the team at the Horseshoe every success for the future and will defiantly be visiting again next time we're back in Scotland.

As a special treat my daughter took me to The Horseshoe to try their tasting menu. It was good that the special deal also included Bed and Breakfast, so we didn't have far to go after the meal and could enjoy the excellent wines provided in the menu. The food was all delicious, beautifully presented and just the right amount of each dish to enjoy it but to have room for more. It was meant to include 7 dishes, but I think I stopped counting at 12.... It was difficult to choose what was the best as everything we tried was great. The wines to accompany the food were also excellent, the service impeccable. the setting lovely. The room was very comfortable and had something that would prompt me to give it five stars: it had real fresh milk instead of the horrid long life capsules you get even in good hotels. After that amazing meal I thought I could not eat again for a month, but next morning, at breakfast time, the restaurant was beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful and the food was so wonderful that we did manage to eat again! Now all I need to do is think of another special occasion to go back to the Horseshoe.

Our stay at the Horseshoe was a truly wonderful experience. Room was tastefully decorated, cosy and had everything needed. All members of staff are professional and engage well with guests. Food is exceptionally good and well on the way to Michelin standard. We had three nights db+b chosing a taster menu one evening. Fabulous! Hope to return to this little gem of a place in the not too distant future. An ideal base for a weekend break and to explore the borders.

Very disappointed to be leaving my first negative review on trip advisor. Cannot even rate the food or drinks in this restaurant. Being new to the village of Eddleston, my partner and I decided to visit the local 'gem' for a couple of drinks following recommendations that it had a lovely cosy bar to visit. Unfortunately to our disappointment, we were turned away because they only serve people staying in the inn. They clearly have no interest in the locals to the village and simply want to uphold a very pretentious attitude. Please also note, there was not one person within the restaurant/bar at 7pm on a Saturday night.

We celebrated three boys' birthdays this weekend with a family lunchtime meal at the Horseshoe Inn. What a lovely experience, a real treat. We were welcomed at the door and taken to a generous sized lounge with cosy stove, bar and intriguing large round window. We would happily have sat there all afternoon but a fabulous lunch awaited us in the dining room. Clean plates all round-I think my son would have licked his desert plate-dark chocolate brownie and blackcurrant sorbet-if he could! The food was excellent; not overpowering portions for a lunch, instead fresh flavours filled us up. Good selection on the menu to choose from- lovely coffee and petits fours too. Our age ranges were 11years- 83 years and everyone was really happy with their choices. Perhaps with younger children it might have been different. The service was faultless, really attentive and helpful, even suggesting a good family walk down by the River Tweed in Peebles. Prices on the menu were not cheap but not ultra expensive either. Considering everything from food to setting to service was so charming it seemed good value for money, well, so said my siter-in-law who paid the bill. We all agreed we'd like to visit another time-hope others do too as it was quiet but deserved to be busier. We really enjoyed our time there.
