Renovated to a good standard, these tastefully furnished and decorated self catering cottages provide an ideal base for visiting the seaside towns of Scarborough, Filey and Whitby. Dalby Forest is close by with its beautiful walks, adventure play areas and picnic sites. The historic city of York with its medieval minster is 45 minutes’ drive. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 600 yards.

Piece and quiet

The place is a little difficult to locate at first but we phoned the owner who then guided us. I read one review which said it needs updating, maybe it does. But for us it just added to the quaintness. The cottage comes completely kitted out, towels, soap, washing up liquid. Upon entering there was even tea bags a pack of Jaffa Cakes. If you like watching birds, this pretty little garden has them coming in. The only draw back is mobile data coverage, the whole area can be very sporadic, but if you don't mind that, it's a great place for piece and quiet and recharging your batteries. 😎👍
