Very nice hotel in beatiful garden, good food, perfect pools with minerál water, but very difficult comunication-most of the staff doesnt speak english, germany, spanish or russia, they dont understand. Difficult to order some massage or bath. The staff let people to use saunas in swimming suites! Also this is nude zone! When I told them, they did nothing... it is not hygienic and it is not fair- Why somebody should respect the rules and somebody not ??? I am dissapointed of the staff's behave... That's shame!!! Old fashioned but with a great park and nice staff. No children around. The food was ok. The sauna was small but very clean and nice. The quality of the water was very good! We enjoyed the stay very much and I would come again.
We have been in various Danubius hotels in the past, but this place gave us the worst experience. One had to repeatedly ask to clean our room. Staff always had more important tasks - over all they showed a stubborn attitude. Unfortunately the restaurant space was very limited, so there were often fights for the tables. Drinks in restaurant very expansive. Plus points: Rooms are big and cosy, great balcony and great Spa.
This Danubius Hotel is registered as a four star hotel, but in my eyes, the hotel is only valuing a 2 and half stars. The service a very tip orientated one. If you don't tip enough you can wait of the service until the end of all times. The massages and gym facilities are good, some very good. The doctor, who will allow the health treatment, is polite but following my experiences not knowledgeable enough. During a dispute with me, she wrote somthing which could cost her her approbation. The food is eatable but not more. At the beginning of this year I had a room where the carpet was full with biting insects and every minute stay in that hotel room amended more bites to my skin. no apologies no other room..... My second stay in October/November was even worse. The room was without daylight. The window was small and a big tree infront of the window did not let normal daylight into the room. In the room it was so dark, that reading a book was impossible even when the lights were switched on. because of the bad facilities in the hotel my health issues deteriorated. I will never go there again.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel in Sarvar, from September30th to October 5th. The rooms are a little outdated by very confortable. We slept very well. Bathroom is small. All employees from the cleaning lady to the reception and servers were very professionnal. The weather was not good so we never had a chance to enjoy the outside pools. We met many austrians and germans and they enjoyed the health possibilities. The dinning-room is very nice and the food is excellent.
First class Hotel with excellent health facilities of baths and exercise and beautiful surroundings and hiking opportunities, both short distance and lengthy hiking. Access from Austria and Budapest very easy. Roads are excellent and train transportation also available from major cities in the area.
We had a lovely room (125) overlooking the garden and pool. The staff was very helpful, professional and kind. We loved the free activities, like the water gymnastics, guided walk in the botanical garden and the Nordic walking (all with Gerald -guest relations). The five days flew by. The only "problem" was we could not resist the great food (roast duck, veal, deer and many authentic Hungarian dishes). We took advantage of the autumn offer for pensioners. Not a child in sight. All in all a very pleasant experience.
This is the second time that we stayed at this hotel. I read many critiques that this hotel is outdated and needs some makeovers. My opinion is that this hotel stands for the times. It was built to last. The hotel was built in the 1980s and still offers you what you need most: to recharge your batteries. There is a library room and a gaming room for playing cards! This place does not want to look more than it can offer. And that’s why I love it. This is not a fancy wellness hotel, full of glasses and tiny common areas. This hotel is a time “capsule” like a scene from a Stanley Kubrick movie… The staff was very helpful, the food was very good. There is also a small gym and the arboretum is next door! It is a very clean hotel in a suberb location!
The staff is wonderfull and friendly, and the food and medical treatments are excellent as well! Yes, there are a few minor points, the room and the bathroom need some renovation, nevertheless, I was there for a medical cure, I don't care if my bed is the newest or a little old-fashioned, just as long as the treatment, the staff and the food is good. And from this point of view there is absolutely nothing to complain about in Danubius Sarvar! I had a wonderful and relaxed stay here, the only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the hotel does need some updating. However, the staff, the restaurant and the services provided make it up more then enough for that, so I booked again for oktober 2016!!
The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. More than just kind. They try to make your stay unforgottable. The restautant is perfect, the food quality is excellent. The dinner was delicious, huge variety. Everybody can find his own taste. The SPA is big enough, different pools. The thermal water is warm and nice. The sauna land also great with rest areas. The sauna land is texil free!! Hotel has a direct connection to the arborétum, which is a huge park. Nice to walk around after dinner. The building is quite old, and looks old school, but well maintained. More royal style than modern. The rooms are clean, little bit too soft bed.
