Conveniently located hotel. Nice courtyard parking nearby for a fee. Room was large- nice to hear cathedral bells ringing. Kitchen was outdated and we couldn’t figure out coffee ma hone but didn’t need it as shops and cafes just steps away we are on top floor- narrow staircase

Sarlat is a beautiful city, and La Villa des Consuls is an equally beautiful hotel. It has everything: wonderful/helpful staff, brilliant location, excellent service, and great breakfast. Staying at La Villa des Consuls made our visit to Sarlat and the surrounding area memorable.

There is a bar next door which was quite noisy on the weekend. Self serve breakfast had good breads, yogurt, fruits and nuts, but coffee was a machine. Our room had nice terrace overlooking Main Street. Polite staff.

The hotel or rather gite was different from our expectations .On the positive side, the hotel is centrally located in the old medieval center of Sarlat and the room had a terrace overlooking the main pedestrian street and had character. Negatives were difficulty in access, vleaning requiring an additional charge, and an oddly configured room. The gitei is for the more adventuresome.

Great location amd comfortable apartment on the ground floor. Balcony over the main street was an unexpected plus. If you come by car note you cannot get close to the hotel and need to park on Av Charles de Gaulle. Also suggest staying Saturday morning where the whole ciry is taken over by an incredible market selling food, souveniers and many things.

We had an veranda and it was amazing view and ambiance. The hotel is clean and perfectly situated right in town. We were disappointed that we only stayed 2 nights. Hotel aside, what really clinched it for me to cause me to write this review was the service. I had forgotten my laptop and immediately the cleaning staff notified us but we were already on our way to Paris. The hotel then helped coordinate the laptop to be shipped back to Canada for me and kept me in the loop the whole process. Valentin - thank you for making a stressful situation much simpler! Highly recommend the staff and the hotel, I hope to be back one day.

We stayed in the new Cary Grant suite, which was beautiful! A kitchenette and large living space with a large bedroom and bathroom, an amazing view, and a lovely private patio looking out over a koi pond. It was perfect. The location is great but it does require ascending two steep inclines to get to the room. Service, however, was lacking and communication was poor. Breakfast was not at all worth the modest 11E charge. We had breakfast twice in our 5 day stay and both times there was just dry bread to be toasted, dry and uneatable little pastries, hard boiled eggs, and yogurt (which was very good). No housekeeping, trash collection, or fresh towels during the entire stay. We saw 3 staff members during the stay but no one introduced themselves so I'm still not sure who we could have asked for anything. One woman, who may have been a cleaner, sat outside and chain smoked quite a bit. Other than her, the other two gentlemen we saw were polite but just not forthcoming with information. We parked in the recommended garage, but please know that it is several blocks away from the hotel. Overall, the space itself was incredible though and Sarlat is a fabulous place to visit and in a perfect location along the Dordogne Valley for seeing this beautiful corner of France.

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The brand new room was lovely. My only complaint is that although the bedroom and separate living area has good room darkening draperies, the bathroom had a sheer window covering. We could see people walking one the street below through them, so we knew they could also see us with the light on, so we couldn't dress or shower in there during hours with din lighting.

La Villa des Consuls is located in the heart of old Sarlat, with all the amenities that entails. The staff is nice and helpful, putting us in touch with a great guide and setting up our taxis to and from the rail station. Breakfast is tasty and reasonably priced, but above all, our two bedroom room was spacious, comfortable, and beautiful. It also included a usable kitchen and a small balcony overlooking the main commercial street. Despite that, it was quiet. I highly recommend this hotel.

A terrace over looking the old city makes this a fun place to stay. Not easy to find but once you do it is a perfect inner city location. Lovely staff. Large suites, dated but functional and quirky. If driving recommend the extra $ to park.
