Made a family vacay late September and stayed for 4 days. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, quaint, tropical location. Stayed 4 days and wished we stayed longer. The cottage was everything we needed and the beach was in close proximity. A bonus with have 2 little ones. It was home away from home. Everything you needed and close to everything. Planning on another stay and hoping to make it longer next time. It was perfect!!

We stayed in #23, a 2ba, 2bd apt overlooking the bay. Updated and modern, right next to the pool, full kitchen, lots of room for my family. We will book again! The amazing view from porch and private dock were icing on the cake. We saw dolphins swimming in the bay both days we were there. Staff made check in and out a breeze. It was perfect with kids- the beach axes for the hotel was right across the street. Trolly stops on both sides of the street very close to hotel entrance. We loved our stay here and didn’t want to leave!

I stayed at tradewinds from February 1-April 8th and didn’t want to leave. This is such a beautiful and friendly place that if I were going to move anywhere This would be it. I am already excited about my two month stay next winter!

The location is across the street from the beach. They share beach access with their sister location Tortunga. It's a very short walk to the beach access. During spring break the free lounge chairs can go fast. They do a great job of policing the beach for folks that use the chairs but aren't guests of either hotel. Beach towels are provided daily. You get one on an exchange basis. The beach, hotel and restaurant area are fairly quiet. During our stay we did not come across any young spring break drunks. You can walk to the restaurant area in about 10 minutes. Walking is preferred due to very little parking during lunch and dinner times. Spring break traffic on the island is crazy crowded and the bridges go up every 30 minutes to make traffic worse so plan accordingly if you plan to leave the island. Trust me on this we learned the hard way. A five minute drive can turn into an hour very quickly. It doesn't matter whether its the Cortez or Manatee bridge or the bridge between AMI and Longboat. We were very satisfied with the lovely room and the pool at the bay side of the property. The room was recently remolded with a full kitchen, king bed, living room with a sleeper, and a huge closet. For the most part it was very quiet with some late night partiers at the hotel next to this place but I would stay here again without hesitation. The only down side is the towel policy where they don't give new bath towels daily. You have to use what they provide all week or you can wash them yourself at their free washer but must provide your own detergent. We stayed a week and the towels they provided did work for the week but when I'm on vacation I like a new towel every day. We did find some pickle ballers a couple hotels North so bring your racket.

Had a wonderful visit to Tradewinds. We stayed in a remodelled cottage which faced south and we got the sun all day from our deck. The pool is right on the inland waterway and we only had a few steps to the gulf beach. The best of both worlds! The island is perfect for cycling with lots of cycle paths and courteous drivers! We spotted manatee, dolphins and lots of lovely birds in their natural environment. All this adds up to a wonderful escape!!! Highly recommend!

My wife and I booked four nights in the Deluxe Cottage. The first thing that we noticed was a musty smell. That evening my eyes started burning and my throat became irritated. Next morning I noticed mold around the tub. I went to the office and told them about the issues. Their response was that the smell was due to the Florida humidity. I told them that we would not be staying four nights due to the issues and that I was requesting a refund for the two nights that we would not be staying there. The day after we left I received an email with a statement at the bottom saying that there would be no refund due to their no refund policy. After calling and speaking with someone in management they agreed to refund $125 of the $625 charge for the two nights that we did not stay there. They said that my health issues were probably due to the jasmine that was growing on the cottage. They also said that they could not give me a refund because they had already paid the owner of the unit. I think that was BS.

Staying at Tradewinds feels like "old Florida" with colorful cottages, lush tropical landscaping, helpful staff and friendly guests. Tradewinds also feels like "new Florida" with recent updates, a sparkling pool, fishing pier on the bay, and easy access to the beach. It is centrally located on the island - walking distance to the Gulf Drive Cafe or Beach House - and the free trolley stops across the street. Little extras make all the difference: the outdoor table and BBQ at each cottage; beach towels, umbrellas, and chairs; and great service. We loved our stay here and look forward to returning soon.

Just finished a fabulous 2 weeks in a recently remodelled North cottage in the wonderful ‘Old Florida’ Tradewinds Resort. The one bedroom cottage is beautifully presented and benefits from being 50m from the pool, 100m from the Tradewinds dock on the Inland Waterway and 250m from the spectacular Gulf of Mexico. The location is perfect and ideal for the free Island bus and within walking distance of some great restaurants (particularly the Wicked Cantina and French Table). Hiring bikes from Beach Bums (delivered to and collected from the door of the cottage) means that you can explore the fabulous Anna Maria Island in full without ever getting in to your car. We will be back!

What a wonderful spot to destress before Christmas! I came with my sister in law and we had such a great week. We stayed in a lovely recently remodelled south facing unit - it had everything we needed. Located on the inland waterway where I plan to fish with my husband on my next trip and yards from the fantastic beach. Gulf Coast sunsets on Anna Maria are incredible. Lots of eating places we could walk to or take the free trolley bus! There was nothing not to like about this vacation. I would highly recommend Tradewinds on Anna Maria Island!

This location - with the Gulf on one side and the bay on the other - was absolutely fantastic! Get up for the sunrise, watch it go down just a few hundred feet away. Plus, the rooms were wonderful. They had clearly just been renovated - gorgeous kitchen with granite, soft-close cabinets and drawers were certainly beyond our expectations.
