We have stayed in numerous properties in Siesta Key, and it’s hard to beat this location, which is directly across from the state park beach. The unit, on the other hand, cannot be rated up to par with the other units we have stayed in for the same cost.
The listing states that the unit was renovated, but this was probably not very recent. We walked into several items in disrepair and quickly reported a few maintenance issues that weren’t addressed by previous tenants or the cleaning crew. Clogged bathroom sink, broken light switch, broken beach chair, broken lampshades, burned lightbulbs and a disposal that leaked water into the cabinet and onto the floor. When on vacation I don’t expect to have to deal with these issues. We were impressed with the help from maintenance, but due to a staffing shortage it took several days of waiting.
The property has a nice pool, though longer term residents often claim the available chairs for an extended social gathering.
The kitchen had plenty of cups, plates, and utensils, but was lacking some of the basics such as potholders, a baking sheet, and large knives. Also, dishwasher pods are not provided in this unit as always in the other units we’ve stayed in. We were told to reread the contract when we asked for some.
All in all, we always enjoy our annual week in Siesta Key. This location is ideal, but we will not return to this unit. For the cost, there was not enough effort put into upkeep and guest hospitality.
