This is a very nice place to stay on the edge of town. Nice and clean though our room was showing a few signs of wear and tear, only to be expected with constant use and maybe one or two less respecful guests? The staff are very polite and helpful. Bed was big and very comfortable. The hotel also has a cafe bar where breakfast is taken which was very good with plenty of buffet choice. There is available parking on site. The town is a historic tourist attraction with nearby ancient caves. The presence of tourists did not impact our stay due to the location of the hotel.

The hotel is beautiful, and very convenient for the town. The seating area at the front of the property was very relaxing. The only negative would be the road was quite noisy at night.

Great time in a small village

A trip go Spain is worth a trip to Santillana del Mar. It is only a daytrip but worth an overnight stay to have a quiet mini holiday. It is a small village with nice restaurants. Go one time and you'll be back; I did.

A little gem

We chose this hotel as the village was a short 25 minute drive max from the Santander ferry and it had a restaurant. We knew we would have been driving all day so looked forward to a meal in comfort. Unfortunately we arrived in a rainstorm, having already driven through snow, only to be told that the restaurant had already closed for the season. The owner gave us a map of the town and assured us there were several restaurants within walking distance. The rain eventually eased enough to get out (brolly available if required) but by this time we were tired, so we ended up in an establishment next door which actually had quite a few spanish eating in it, and which did a fair main course. The room was charming, centrally heated with plenty of hanging space and whilst it overlooked what appeared to be a fairly busy road, once the shutters were closed, you wouldn't know it. Upon return the lobby/lounge had a lovely wood fire going and we were able to enjoy a nightcap. We opted to have breakfast which was €7 each which wasn't bad value - cereals, juice, tea/coffee, toast etc but unfortunately the scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, provided were stone cold However there was plenty of alternative continental to be had so we weren't too worried. For the price, as per my title, this hotel was a little gem and the owner and staff delightful

Handy for the old town.

Clean, tastefully decorated. Clean spacious room with a very good bathroom. The staff are very good, good breakfast. Lounge and bar/ restaurant areas comfortable and well thought out. Well located for a short walk into the old town.Good secure car park. The only negatives are the beds are not the best, and sound insulation is not great so you have to wait for everyone else to settle down before you can go to sleep. Shame as otherwise it is a very nice hotel.

Friendly service, if a bit stretched. Front desk guy was also bartender and waiter, until regular staff arrived. On a busy road, but not too loud. Close to town, but not that close to the Camino del Norte. Good choice if staying a few days in Santillana del Mar.

Excellent hotel close to ferry st Santander

Couldn’t fault anything. Because of a late arrival due to ferry crossing being delayed by 3 hours the hotel made sure we could still have dinner that night and we’re excellent hosts
