We took the Rede Express Bus from Lisbon to Fatima (1.5 hours) where the bus station was a short walk or taxi ride away to Cinquentenario Hotel - probably the biggest building in the center of "new" Fatima, with 187 rooms and a Conference Center, and just 60 meters from the "Santuario" - the Glorious Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima. We stayed for 4-nights/5-days for our Pilgrimage, as well as exploring Fatima, Aljustrel/Valinhos, Ourem, Batalha, and the largest, preserved Knights Templar fortification all - in Tomar (30 minutes away from Fatima). The Reception was big, connecting to the shops, restaurants, coffee shop, bar, conference center with many comfortable places to sit. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient, the breakfast buffet was good enough (and was already included in the room price), the room was big and comfortable, with many windows overlooking the street in the entrance, and the extra-bed was built-in, folding up into the wall, and the room had spacious cabinets, safety-deposit box, mini-bar, desk and chair, with a TV (that had 5 news channels in English, and 2 German channels!!!). The toilet/bathroom was relatively spacious, with a toilet and a bidet in one corner, then a big washbasin, and a big shower closet. Wining and dining in Portugal is so good (and relatively gets even cheaper away from Lisbon) and the people are friendly and relaxed, and not "pushy" at all. For us, it was truly an experience, a great stay in the hotel and in glorious Fatima (and of course the Knights Templars/Knights of Christ in Tomar.
The hotel located in a good area. There are a lot of souvenir shops and some restaurants. Close to the santuary of Our Lady Fatima. But for me the hotel was a little bit dull and gloomy. Not so nice but quite good. There are free wifi and continental breakfast also.
Stayed here recently with a large group and it was a very pleasant experience. I could not fault any aspect of this hotel. The rooms were large and very comfortable and the general facilities were great. The staff were friendly and inviting and overall service levels were excellent. We were booked for 3 nights full board and the food was really great with plenty of choices and with complimentary water and wines available for lunches and dinners. The head waiter was great and the waiting staff were very good. I stayed in this hotel previously and was pleased that they have maintained their high standards. The location is also excellent, only about a 5 minute walk to the sanctuary. Highly recommend!
A nice place to stay for our pilgrimage. The hotel is walking distance to the Basilica hence a very busy hotel. Our room has two bedrooms with one shower. It looked like a two bedrooms apartment without living area. We found this particularly helpful as we could put our toddler in one room to sleep and close the door and we could continue repacking our suitcases noisily on the other room. The rooms are older style but are clean and comfortable. Air conditioning was very nice and cold during our warm summer stay. Do note there is no kettle in the room.
We have just stayed at this wonderful and very friendly hotel. We go every year to Cinquentenario Hotel as we know all the staff and one of the Directors, her name is Ann Oliveira-- what a lovely person. Although a 4 ''star plus hotel'' its a 5 ''star treatment. The reservation staff, the bar staff and the restaurant staff so very very helpful, happy and always with a smile!! The food is excellent in the restaurant, and outstanding buffet. NO COMPLAINTS WHATSOEVER. The bedrooms are excellent clean spacious, the décor perfect and lots of light. The location is excellent only a short stroll to the Sanctuary of Our Lady Of Fatima. So very holy. Lots of Pilgrimages from all parts of the globe. You don't need to be a Christian to come here as I have met people from all religions to visit this beautiful place. My family and I already miss this AMAZING-Hotel, Will be booking again next year after the Pope has visited Fatima in May 2017.But whoever reads my review or reviews of Fatima and the Cinquentenario Hotel must visit this lovely place---- don't miss it !! This is such a lovely and warm hotel. The breakfast is delicious. The staffs are so nice and kindly. The hotwater is running well. The water is so clean and fresh. You'll find peace in here. The fatima sanctuary is just about 5 minutes walk, suitable for pilgrim who loved to walk at night to pray at the sanctuary/the church. There are so many souvenirs shop near the hotel and their price are reasonable and fair. I'll go back here definitely.
The location is recommended for pilgrimage group. However no hot water kettle is provided. The room is clean. Breakfast is simple but thats what you have in portugal. Overall it is good. I will definitely come back for this hotel
Lovely hotel with good location. Took a slow walk to the Sanctuary. We had our dinner at the hotel. Not much choice during dinner but food was good and service was too. Its a pity we had only a night stay here.
Very well located - 5 min walking from sanctuary - with nice rooms and fairly equipped. Cousy, with a nice overall service. If you are integrating an excursions you have a very nice breakfast and fair meals (both with soup, fish and meat as main course and fruit and traditional, Portuguese, deserts). You get what you paid for (at least on low season). To repeat!
Very nice hotel. Appeared to have been recently updated. Beds were quite comfortable. The street side was a little noisy until 10 or 11 p.m. Food in restaurant was okay at dinner and breakfast buffet was good.
