Hotel clean and on the beach BUT it's September and there is no one here All the restaurants are closed the bars are closed most of the Hotel is closed Wanted a Spanish adventure but got a very sad closed up place Very depressing won't be back
The Maritime Ris does not pretend to be a luxury hotel however it offers a service better than most hotels in its class. There are no daytime or evening meals, only breakfasts. That may be okay in high season but in September the choice of restaurant was quite limited and most nearby were closed (even at the weekend). The hotel breakfast is buffet style and of excellent quality, with a wide choice. Facilities are very good and very clean. The whole hotel is maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness, particularly in the rooms. The staff are very good at their jobs and very friendly. English is spoken but the staff are also patient with those of us who speak slow Spanish. There is a 'quiet' policy from 2200 to 0800, which was only breached once during our week's stay, by a couple of merry souls returning from a bar about 2300. Otherwise, it was very tranquil. The hotel does not have an attended bar, but it does have a bar area with TV and drinks can be purchased at Reception. Prices are quite reasonable. We had one minor problem during our stay, when the fridge failed. This was attended to very promptly and efficiently. The hotel has free underground parking, which is easily accessed. The Ris beach is right across the road from the hotel and is of excellent quality, very suitable for families. The road itself is quiet (at least in September). I recommend this hotel for those who like cleanliness and being just a little bit away from the hustle/bustle of busier resorts.
Just returned from a fabulous holiday in Noja. The hotel is a wonderful gem overlooking a great beach for sun, sea and surf. Our family had 2 sea view rooms which were wonderful. They were spacious, spotlessly clean and included a safe. The continental breakfast was of a super quality and with freshly squeezed orange juice...a real treat. A must to do is visit Bilbao and The Guggenheim. A wonderful holiday and we look forward to returning again.
We were desperately searching at the last minute for an apartment with a swimming pool near the beach, and this is what we found. Although it was a little pricy, we had a fantastic time. We arrived at 10am straight off the Bilbao ferry and they let us into our flat straight away. There is loads of parking under the hotel (with room for our long Ford Transit Torneo van). The apartment was extremely spacious, light, airy and clean with the main kitchen/diner/sitting room having a large 6 seat dining table, two large sofas, and the kitchen was equipped with a toaster, a two ring halogen hob (a little slow), a microwave, washing machine and dishwasher and a clothes drying rack that can be put out on one of the (three) balconies. The apartment we had two large bedrooms with built in wardrobes, two bathrooms, one with a shower, the other with a large bath with a shower attachement. The "hotel" also has a nice outdoor swimming pool that is enjoyed, mainly, by children. Ours (5 and 3) loved it. Downstairs there is also a large Jacuzzi, where children are allowed from 9am to 3pm, and a Sauna, Turkish steam room and Gym just for adults. The Ris beach is literally over the road from the hotel-apartment complex. The hotel has a large breakfast room if you are in one of the "hotel" rooms or you simply like to be served breakfast, but we always breakfasted in our room or in one of the local cafes. The only negative thing, I could say about the Maritimo Ris Hotel & Apartamentos complex, and it is very minor, is that they have decided to close their bar. You can get a Nespresso for €1.20 and buy wines from reception, but it would be nice to have a communal place apart from the pool. In summary, given the space, the cleanliness, the position and the facilities, the perfect place for a family holiday!
Stunning apartments and hotel right on the beach. Apartments are very large and of a very high standard. Complex has a buffet breakfast with excellent choices each morning and a juicing machine to squeeze fresh orange juice. Lovely pool and sunbathing area with large indoor jacuzzi, steam room and great gym. Beautiful artwork displayed throughout the complex which is spotlessly clean. The complex provides underground parking and is literally on the beach with a good selection of restaurants on the beach and right beside a great surf school. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful with suggestions about Camino routes and local activities and attractions.
Visited this hotel for 10 days in July 2017 with family. We got a two bedroom apartment. Apartment was spacious, clean, nicely furnished and has everything you need - A/C, dishwasher, washing machine, fully equipped kitchinette, fridge, etc. The common areas of the hotel are also spacious and squeaky clean. The reception staff is friendly, helpful and speaks very good English (quality sometimes hard to come by in Spain). The only downside is that they do not offer cleaning service for the apartments, not even for a fee. They only exchange towels once in a week. So you are on your own during the entire stay which is not ideal if you go to the beach every day with kid - you either have to spend considerable time cleaning or the apartment looks like a sand pit after few days.
After travelling almost 3000 miles through France and Spain we overnighted here prior to catching the ferry from Santander the next day. This hotel is superbly placed for the beach and has a superb if somewhat small pool. The sea view balconied room we overnighted in was faultless. The host & hostess were tireless in their efforts to keep the place running efficiently. The buffet breakfast was of a good Spanish standard and there was extremely freshly pressed orange juice on tap. Our only regret was that we were not staying longer and that we left Noja too early the next day.
We enjoyed our stay here in Noja immensely. We'd originally booked an apartment in the nearby resort Isla that turned out to be a disaster. So looking for an alternative, we found online the Maritimo Ris Hotel and drove over to check it out. The ladies Leyre and Inma at reception were very kind and helpful and booked us into their hotel It turned out to be a true pearl. We stayed in a room facing the beach. The balcony gave us tremendous views across the sea, the coastline and rocks. We spent many happy hours watching the waves, over a glass of wine or two. The room was modern, inviting and very clean. Having a fridge was an added bonus. The bathroom was large and lovely. The cleaning staff did an impeccable job. This should easily be a four star hotel. Breakfast was excellent. The lady in charge of breakfast was extremely hard-working, always cleaning, tidying and smiling at each and every guest. We used the swimming pool area and sauna, really nice, relaxing and enjoyable. The beach at Noja is the cleanest we've ever experienced. Even after a hot day when thousands were on the beach, it was still spotlessly clean in the evening. There were nearly only Spanish tourists here, and we have a high regard for their respectful approach. Very close to the hotel is a wonderful bar/restaurant called Ciaboga. We enjoyed tapas and wine there at lunchtimes and on two occasions excellent dinners. The hosts are José and Vanessa and we recommend their Rabas, Lamb chops and the stuffed courgettes. But the absolute highlight of our stay was the excellent service from Leyre, Inma and Paula who were helpful in dealing with any and every wish we had. They made our honeymoon special. Thank you so much!!! We will never forget you. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Fantastic value for money and superb service. We will go back one day, for sure!
Just spent a week in an apartment there with my husband and 3 young children. the apartment is the largest we've stayed in, nicely decorated and the hotel was clean. The best though is how friendly the staff were - really helpful and have a positive vibe.
A well equipped newish looking hotel on the seafront in Noja. Comfortable rooms, outdoor pool, spa facilities, excellent breakfasts, private parking and friendly staff. Very quiet midweek in early June and problems with no hotel restaurant, compounded by most local restaurants also being closed. However, this was obviously the timing of our visit and there are lots of restaurants around, once open.
