About our home: This Mid Century home was built in 1968 by a builder named Allen Stamm, who built about 800 homes in our little neighborhood area of Casa Alegre. These quaint homes were built for the working class of Santa Fe back in the day.
Stamm’s classic pueblo structures are still today synonymous with solid well built homes and are considered icons of the Santa Fe style in the Santa Fe home market. Say you own a Stamm home and you receive nods of approval from the locals. Mr. Stamm added variety and beauty to his functional homes, and included features such as vigas, corbels, kiva fireplaces and portals.
We have used vintage decor true to the time era of Mid Century Spanish Revival, which we feel also reflects the beauty of the Santa Fe Style. We have blended in some modern and eclectic pieces to add to the unique look. Enjoy!
Home Layout: Casa de Flora has a front covered porch inside a private gated courtyard, entry area, and a main sunny living area. The Kitchen is fully stocked and complete with two charcuterie boards, full cookware, and service ware for16, everything you need for fabulous meal preparation, a buffet cabinet complete with cloth napkins, etc. Vintage furniture is in Spanish Revival Style and is all throughout the home with vintage lighting throughout as well. The primary bedroom is complete with a new King size Aviya luxury mattress, premium cotton sheets, ensuite full bath with shower and large walk in closet.. The quiet spacious middle bedroom has a new queen size Aviya luxury mattress with premium cotton sheets. The third bedroom is a Flex Room with Den, Smart TV, and Game Table with an EZ Pull comfy queen size Murphy Bed complete with a new Aviya luxury mattress with premium cotton sheets. Enjoy the gorgeous hall bath with custom painted walls and adorable quirky cabinets! The back covered porch in the rear private courtyard is complete with a new HotSpring hot tub, patio furniture and grill.
About Casa Alegre Neighborhood: Only about 2.5 miles from the Plaza of downtown Santa Fe, Casa Alegre neighborhood is a haven of peace and quiet while still being close to the bustle of all that Santa Fe has to offer. Most homes are Mid Century Pueblo Style and are solidly shining through the passage of time.
About Allen Stamm our builder: No other Santa Fe builder in the modern era contributed as much as Allen Stamm did to the bedrock concept of "home." A visionary as well as a man of immense integrity, character, compassion and humanity, he built thousands of high-quality—but not high-cost—houses all across the face of this community. He worked always to make them livable, durable, handsome, architecturally sensitive, friendly and, perhaps most important, affordable for ordinary Santa Fe folks with average incomes. As a Depression-era graduate of the University of New Mexico, Stamm understood that hard-working but poor people needed decent homes in which to live and raise their families. As early as 1939 he was building "affordable housing" here—long before the term was coined. Despite the modest $10,000 to $20,000 prices, his homes featured hardwood floors, vigas, kiva fireplaces, nichos and other traditional touches, plus superlative workmanship. He hired women consultants to design the kitchens. He made places for Christmas trees and highchairs, and built garages that were easily converted into bedrooms for growing families. He instituted year-round work for his employees as well as an insurance plan, partnerships for his top executives, and a one-year unconditional guarantee on his houses—all unheard-of concepts before he came. He elevated the building industry’s standards, here and throughout the state. For a residence in Santa Fe, there is no higher tribute than to say it is a "Stamm House"—and like the homes he built, his legacy will stand the test of time. Bright and Welcoming Home
My husband, 2 adult daughters and I thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving stay in this cheerful home! It is well stocked with kitchenware and gadgets and we just loved the wood burning fireplace and the hot tub. House is within easy driving distance of everything and walking distance from the pleasant river trail. Host is very welcoming and checked in by text to make sure our stay was going smoothly. Provided terrific recommendations for stores and restaurants. Third bedroom with comfy fold out bed, though billed as an entertainment room, is actually a private bedroom with a door. Lots of fun decorative touches in the home too!
Such a quaint little place. It was a great stay, thank you!

Casa De Flora July 2024
Casa De Flora was better than we expected. The pictures are accurate. However, they are only 2D and when we were on site, we had a better appreciation of the property and for the effort it took to make it special. The kitchen and dining room are spacious and the appliances in the kitchen were great. This was the first place we have been to that had plenty of everything from silverware and glasses to soft goods, disposables, cleaning supplies, and coffee. The Casa is convenient to everywhere we needed to go yet quiet and in a nice neighborhood. The front and back yards are fantastic and well kept. We spent time on both patios. The grill served us well and the hot tub was the best we have ever used. Our family of five adults kept commenting on how great of a place it is.

Tucked centrally located hub.
The house was clean and comfortable. We had originally planned to visit with another couple, but they had to back out. A bit more than we needed space-wise, would be great for two couples.
Loved the hot-tub and backyard! Maintained an average of 3.33 ‘tub times’ per day. Awesome

Perfect spot in Santa Fe
We were thrilled with our stay. Three adult couples (extended family) had a wonderful time here. The spacious and very well-equipped kitchen allowed multiple cooks to work together preparing delicious meals. Each of the bedrooms has great features and everyone was happy with their space. The sunny living room with large kiva was a favorite gathering spot. We especially appreciated that the hosts provided the firewood. The large and beautiful dining table was great for group meals (and a bonus: the DR chairs are comfortable!)
The outdoor spaces are lovely, and we enjoyed having them even in winter. An unexpected delight was the proximity to Frenchy's Park and access to trails along the Santa Fe River just two bocks away. We walked or ran the trails every day.
Hosts Robin and Kyle were super helpful and responsive, as was the amazing local property manager Dan. We hope to return soon!

Lovely well equipped oasis.
We spent the Thanksgiving holiday at Casa de Flora. It is a lovely comfortable home, well equipped for cooking and sharing a special meal. We hosted a supper for some of our daughter’s friends and they all admired the graciousness of the house. The beds were extremely comfortable and there were plenty of towels for the hot tub. It provided a welcome retreat from holiday
bustle.
The only concern re how it didn’t quite match the listing was that the third bedroom is part of the media room. This was not an issue for us but if three couples wanted to share they would not have equivalent space.

Girls'Trip
We enjoyed our stay st Casa de Flora. The home was so comfortable and clean and perfectly decorated, with the most eye pleasing decorations and touches. New leather sofas and comfortable chairs. There was plenty of space for all of is to sit in the living room and chat or in the small den for a movie.
There was a great dining table for games as well. However, we spent most of our time at Casa de Flora on the wonderful covered patio out back. Several of us enjoyed the pristine hot tub and there was plenty of room and seating on the patio for all of us to enjoy the cool afternoons and evenings. There was even a charming Apricot Tree full of ready to pick apricots. The kitchen had everything we could need to prepare meals, drinks etc. All the kitchenware was clean, matching, beautiful and plentiful. The beds were comfortable with very nice linens and bathrooms were well stocked with lovely towels etc. Even had separate set of towels for the hottub.
If we had any small problem, it was addressed immediately by the host. I would definitely want to stay ay Casa de Flora again. It felt like staying in a 1930s luxury spanish adobe cottage with comfortable clean furnishings. All that! Thanks, Robin!

Beautiful home is a comfortable setting to see Santa Fe
The home is extremely well decorated and has a well stocked kitchen for cooking. After exploring Santa Fe you can relax in the hot tub and then kick back and read in the living room or watch TV in the family room. We would highly recommend it to anyone spending time in Santa Fe!
