First of all the pics are very deceiving there is no pool no bar or restaurant. But with that said this place was charming. Great value for the price. The staff was very helpful and nice. The property to me was beautiful. I also love the breakfast and coffee in the morning they have. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable but if your just looking for a safe quiet place to stay at night this is a great choice.

Great location!

Great location for a price half the cost of other hotels along the Sorrento Coast... easy walk (about 1.4 miles but flat) to the city centre! But the restaurants nearby are excellent!

Was a great stay! View of cliffs, ocean, and Vesuvius just breathtaking!

Would definitely stay here again! To have a view of the ocean, cliffs, and Vesuvius was really incredible. Breakfast area and food were enjoyable and could be further enjoyed in the courtyard under lemon and orange trees. Staff did a nice job at reception desk. Room was nice and comfortable. So much to see in the vicinity that I did not spend much time in the room. At night, could sit undisturbed by the ocean cliffs and see Vesivius quite well. Took a lot of pictures here. External bathrooms for most rooms - NOT clear on room descriptions! My mother's air-con was broken for 2 days and mine did not work for the entire holiday. The hotel staff then informed us half way through our stay that my mother would have to change rooms as they had "upgraded" us without informing us that we would then need to change. Very aggressive manner when dropping this new information on us!! Hotel overall is nice but the treatment of us by the staff was terrible. Very disappointing!

Room on budget, 30mins walking to city centre

The hotel is in S. Agnello station around half an hour walking to city centre. At night time, the way back to hotel was dark and scary. There is no lift to upstair and we needed to bring a huge luggague by ourselves with no help. The air condotional was not working and the room was hot, so we need to open the window but the music from restaurant outside was loud.

well we stayed at the place and it was ok but one thing over bathroom separate when we stayed at the bedroom and bathroom outside the corridor opposite our bedroom. Breakfast are fairly and i didnt eat much breakfast. Not enough choice. During the day time havent got hot drink machine!! some restaurants are good outside from the purple

Easy to Access Sorrento and Area

The Hotel Purple offers a great location to enjoy the Amalfi peninsula! The staff are friendly and helpful! The breakfast is great and has many choices. The train to Pompeii is a ten minute walk away and downtown Sorrento is only twenty minutes away. There are many restaurants and bars nearby as well as a supermarket that is only a 15 minute walk. As an aside, a block up the street from the supermarket is Pepinos. If you are looking for a change from Italian food their rotisserie chicken is fabulous and very reasonably priced!

False advertising con

Hugely disappointed with both this hotel and hotels.com. Before booking this hotel, please be aware there is NO pool. The pool is not under refurbishment it has been filled in with cement. I have raised this with the hotel during my stay (something they are now denying) but due to language barriers I then communicated with hotels.com. This is clearly false advertising and neither party seem concerned by this as long as they are still getting bookings. The hotel is very noisy at night and the air con in the rooms doesn't work making for an uncomfortable night. There is no bar/restaurant that we could find and the hotels facilities are generally lacking. We wanted a cheap and cheerful stay and did not have high expectations by any means. The hotel was generally clean but I would not stay here again and would advise you to book with caution

Hotel with beautiful sea views

Basic room, comfortable bed, beautiful views! Inside of shower cubicle and soap dispenser could do with a good scrub to get rid of the mould! Also the bathroom ceiling. To be able to make a coffee in the room would be brilliant! Advertised a swimming pool, no swimming pool, advertised terrace seating, no terraced seating! It was a Monastery, high ceilings, tiled floors! More like a hostel than a hotel! Friendly receptionist and breakfast lady!

Very disappointed and tried to get another hotel close by that was nicer towards end of trip but they were all booked. For example our window was on a back street that was couple blocks away from a bar, so we were woken every night by drinkers, fighting, breaking bottles at 3 am

Great value for the location. Beautiful Mount Vesuvius and ocean views from window in some rooms or going out 50m from the place. You can find Nice Restaurants to enjoy a great dinner with fantastic scenery. Public transportation or walk distance to downtown.

Pleasant staff, good location

We stayed here for a week and were impressed with how close the hotel is to the sea front (but just to let people know that Sorrento isn't really known for it's beaches, there is a charge to get on them and they are very small and covered in sun loungers. It's closed to a few restaurants and a bar that does very cheap cocktails. The staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast basic but serves a purpose, good house keeping service.

We made reservation for private bathroom. But hotel provide for us room with SHARED bathroom. Yes, we arrived next day than check-in date, BUT ALL days that we was stayed in this hotel - Hotel HAVE available rooms with private bathroom... Terrible staff!

Nice room, walk to shops and restaurants

We enjoyed our one night stay in Purple, Sant'Agnello. We had a nice room, comfortable for 4 adults with a water view. There is onsite, gated free parking. There is also a small bistro restaurant with a garden on the property. Many nice restaurants, shops within walking distance. It is just outside downtown Sorrento and the ferry port to go over to Capri. This would be a great place to stay and explore Sorrento for a few days. Next time we will stay longer!
