Located in Salzburgerland, Sankt Margarethen im Lungau is also called the valley town of the top ski resort Katschberg. It offers several amenities for your daily needs and a fine selection of restaurants.

The famous Katschberg ski resort is THE ski area for a perfect skiing and winter holiday! Located directly between the states of Salzburg and Carinthia, it offers 80 kilometers of ski slopes for relaxed and sporty skiing and snowboarding. The neighbouring ski areas Grosseck - Speiereck and Fanningberg and the widely known ski area Obertauern offer a total of about 250 kilometers of ski slopes for optimal skiing pleasure.

Located between the local mountain Aineck and the Grainwald, Sankt Margarethen im Lungau is also an ideal starting point in summer for numerous activities in the Salzburg Lungau region. There are around 60 mountain lakes, such as Prebersee or Schlierersee, and the Lungau/Katschberg golf club is close to the town centre. The idyllic swimming lake in St Margarethen im Lungau and the various public swimming pools in the region provide the necessary cooling down during hot summer days! You can also reach the famous Millstättersee and Weissensee in Carinthia within 30-45 minutes' drive by car.
