The location is perfect, right in the heart of the old town. Anna was a wonderful host, she went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great. She had incredible recommendations for food and beaches and bars. It was a pleasure to stay with her. I've seen a couple of reviews mention the noise - yes, it is a lively area but we slept very well! And the bars next door have some of the best bocadillo that we had all week!! Definitely recommend Pension Anna.

Simple, clean, and exactly what you need. Private room, shared bathrooms — nothing fancy, but everything felt well-kept and comfortable. The host was genuinely warm and welcoming throughout the stay. Great base for exploring the city. Would recommend without hesitation.

I booked this room after reading the reviews about Anne. What a gem, she did not disappoint. She made us a delicious breakfast, welcomed us with warmth every time we saw her, did our laundry for us… she is a seasoned pro and was one of the highlights of our trip. I could not recommend more. Thank you Anne for caring for us as if we were family. We hope to visit you again.

6/10 Aceptable

Make no mistake about the pension Anne: It IS a pension, that is, a family run business and is located in the beautiful old section of Donostia-San Sebastían, perhaps the most expensive city in Spain. The downside is that accommodations will be quite tight in terms of size--in my case, could barely fit the bed and very little else--and the premises are in line with a pension, that is, somewhat run-down. However, there are bright spots: 1) though the street outside the hotel is narrow and noisy (revellers all the time and noisy vagrants) the windows have enough mechanisms to neuter those inconveniences. I slept like a rock. 2) you get to meet people from all over the world who have booked a night or two at pensión Anne and they have stories to tell and great conversation in the kitchen in the mornings. 3) the location of the pensión is to die for. Everything is within reach: world class restaurants, the beautiful scalloped beach, shops (fancy and kitschy alike) and neighborhoods that round the bay and spread out like jewels in the majestic setting of this wonderful small city. 4) You get to meet the proprietor Anne, who is someone you will never forget. A true tour de force who wants to know all about you and is cosmopolitan enough to share dazzling stories of her own that will top your own. She talks fast but has a loving touch. She also is a fantastic cook. She is generous with the food she doles out--fresh from her house, she makes EVERYTHING--every morning.

Anne is a joy and hysterical. She works very hard to ensure her guests are taken care of and understand the rules. It's a very small set of rooms on one floor so each room is very close and the sound travels easily. Now, this is a Pension so there are no amenities however, Anne makes breakfast for you with Jamon from her own family farm. Awesome, so good. Also, the freakin' water pressure is amazing, and for me that is a really big deal. Do note, some rooms are a 'shared bathroom', and some have their own bathroom...so be sure to know which you're booking. Good times with Anne!
