modern, classy, nice rooms, amazing buffet breakfast. it is a mile or more into the old city but worth it to me. Quiet, not too many restaurants in the immediate area but the hotel is so nice it is worth it. About a 6 euro taxi ride into the old city, or walkable if you are fit and the weather permits.
The public areas of this hotel are beautifully decorated and the bedrooms modern, spacious and comfortable. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Just a 15 minute walk from the harbour via shopping area. Big benefit is Parking under the Hotel.
Modern hotel ten minutes walk from the beautiful bay and old town of San Sebastián. Friendly staff and good food. Recommend for a couple of nights. Take the the train to Bilbao if you want to see the Guggenheim museum
On arrival we were initially impressed by the cleanliness of our room. The bed was really comfy and the room was spacious. However after heavy rain on the second day of our stay we returned back late to our room to find that the room had started to flood through the 3 window seal/frames and staff had entered the room while we were out and filled the inside window ledges with towels which were soaking wet by that time. This happened twice during our stay. They were obviously aware of this and no mention was made on the hotels part about the situation which we found disappointing especially as the hotel is supposed to have a 4* rating. I would suggest that in future known repairs are carried out before letting the room to guests as this would definitely make me think twice about returning or recommending the hotel as an option to stay in to others. Other gripes were the only mirror was in the bathroom along with the hairdryer (which was absolutely useless...bring your own!). I had to stand for 40 minutes trying to dry my hair with the equivalent breeze of a gnat's fart! The shower was also weak with minimal pressure. Good points; Comfortable beds, 15 mins trot to the Old Town, Nice staff and clean rooms.
Hotel is nice. We were on tour during august and the air conditioning was not cold. You can not control it in the room. It is universally controlled. It was never cool In the room. Rooms were clean and staff was very nice. A good location to get to many attractions and restaurants.
The room was good for European standards. The staff very attentive. The location is a bit far if all you want is to be at the beach and relax (about a 20 minute walk). The air conditioning didn't work (for us Americans) and the shower was not very good. The water will get hot and cold at any moment for no reason. All and all, and ok place. Will try to stay at the Gros area next time.
We were told this was a Four Star Hotel. I would not give it three stars. Rooms are very small. Air conditioning was completely inadequate the first night, they said it was because our room faced south and they leave the windows open when the room isn't occupied. It never cooled off and we couldn't sleep. They moved us across the hall it's not much cooler. Teeny room. If this "4*" There must be a new rating system. The location is terrible, not near anything. It's literally on an island off the highway. You need to take cabs everywhere! I see it seems geared to tour buses I don't know why my travel agent put us here but I'm really unhappy! Very bad choice. It's shabby to boot and the only positive comment are they give you decent amenities in the bathroom.
The hotel was adequate but feels a bit dated and is a 25-30 minute walk to the old section of town, bars, restaurants and beach! Not great. However, we rented bikes which made it easier to get around and was quite fun. The AC and bathroom were not great. Overall, the hotel was quite expensive for what they offered.
This is a clean comfortable hotel on the southside of the town. Good variety of fruit, cereals, juices, cheese, cold meats and cooked items for breakfast. But come dinnertime, give it a very wide berth. They only offer a 3 course meal with 3 options for each course. That's a total of 9 dishes to prepare - which seemed like several too many. The fish soup was tasteless - a brown liquid poured over a couple of pieces of fish. One of our group was served undercooked cod as a main course which on complaint was replaced by an adequate dish of hake. My wife didn't fancy anything on offer so opted for a club sandwich ans chips. They were served cold. In any hotel this is disgraceful but in a city which prides itself on its cuisine it is truly unbelievable.
One Of The Best. High cleaning and High standard. Not far from Beach and The old City. Beautiful view over The bringes and river. Breakfast is at High standard and have a lot of different taste things to offer.
