Liked that we had own cabin . a bar a restaurant on. Location
Friendly check in staff, quiet location, nice pool
The accommodations are very basic. Bring soap shampoo and conditioner w you. For the price, it was a good value but I would spend a bit more for nicer accommodations next time. The bar restaurant adjacent is very pricey and takes only cash.
Very good. Would recommend
[...] in the office is very helpful and a very nice person. This is a quiet hotel. Don't look for a lot of amenities here. The cabanas are kept very clean. Kitchen items include a microwave, toaster, refrigerator. There is only place settings for two, sparse silverware, etc. Bring a bottle opener if you plan on drinking beer. Beach towels are in your room. The hotel does rent bikes for a very reasonable rate. Hotel is out of town a little bit but it's a quick ride into town on a bike. The roads are paved with paving stones which makes it easy to ride. Pool is large and the Sand Bar is nice to have so close. Make sure you take a cat sail and snorkel Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley.
Perfect place to relax and recharge. Hotel staff are excellent, helpful and warm. There are no swimming beaches on the island, but the pool is great.
The hotel is a great get away from everything. Not having a in-room phone made us a little apprehensive. We went for two days fishing and the dock pick-up was super. Although you had to call a cab to get into town, the price was right $2.50 US-one way. Mosquitoes can be a problem. Make sure to bring snacks and beach towels.
The hotel was a bit further from town than we expected, but we appreciated the quiet. Our cabin was near the water, and it was nice to fix breakfast ourselves. The staff was very helpful, and arranged all local tours for us and added the price to our bill upon check out. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows were uncomfortable. A mosquito net would have been helpful as well. Overall, a great experience and we'd stay again.
The Royal Caribbean Resort - Although my trip was cut short by the impending hurricane the staff at the RCR couldn't have been more helpfull. Their first priority was my safety and comfort under the circumstances. I made some great friend in my short stay on Ambergris Caye and will be back to visit soon.
Royal Caribbean was a hike from town. We landed at the airstrip and judging from the maps that are available of San Pedro, the hotel was pretty close. We walked a ways on beaches with trash on them. We did rent bikes which was a great way to get around. An American group who stayed at the hotel when we were there rented a golf cart (from a rental company) and it was stolen and the rental company put $4000 on their American Express! We hypothesized that the rental company was stealing there own carts back and making $$$! That didn't help us to feel very safe. Ambergris in general is expensive. Pool was nice and rooms were clean. You cannot swim off the beach almost anywhere because there is so much seagrass.
