Great hotel to stay at on the island. Close enough to walk into town but just far enough away to escape the noise and bustle of downtown. Great breakfast that is free every day. Always extremely clean with great staff.

The overall property was good--hot water was missing or took forever to come on--water pressure was very bad--it was very hot so taking a shower was necessary--you could hardly get wet "standing" in the shower so little water was coming out--barely wash off the soap--tough situation

Staff was fantastic and very friendly. Great beach and great location. The only drawback was that the beach was filled with seaweed and had a horrific smell. It’s too bad because it’s one of the only hotels with a private beach.

Far away from center of town. Mattress not great.

The staff were the friendliest people ive ever met! Hotel, food and pool was great!! Only complaint was the smell of the seagrass (they were working hard cleaning and getting rid of it)

The rooms have not been renovated for a while (at least the one I stayed in hasn't) but overall the place has an interesting character. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Has decent restaurant.

Nice place, but the beach lacked accessibility ... Clean and well maintained

Great value for money. Neighborhood to the south not safe after dark

Banana Beach Hotel is located on the south end of the island, very close to the dive shop Belize Pro Divers, which is excellent. If you are diving, this dive shop will pick you up on the dock at the hotel and it is a short boat ride to the reefs. As far as Belize prices, this hotel is moderately priced. Staff is friendly. The veranda balcony rooms are of okay size, but if there are 2 people in the room, there is not enough storage space. The rod for hanging clothes is about 24 inches long, there are 3 small drawers to put clothes in. I stayed by myself, so it was manageable, but with 2 people, there is not any room to put clothes/suitcases away. Some rooms have a king bed with a twin bed. My friends used the twin bed to put clothes on. There is no place to put suitcases. The ocean front suites are spacious with a beautiful view.

We had the best experience and vacation! Can't wait to go back

Friendly staff. Able to walk to town in 20min on beach. Lots of golf carts. Breakfast included was minimal. Snorkeling was the best. Took an airplane to the mainland to see ruins, zoo, and tube thru caves. A rainfall prevented the tube trip. Dinner at the hotel was good, great daily drink specials. Don't bother going to Secret Beach... nothing to see.

We stayed at Banana Beach for 7 days and it was great. The staff was amazing and helped with all of our needs. Ruby at Monkey a business was wonderful as well and we were able to book some day trips to the mainland and rent our cart from her! The room was decent enough (we didn't really spend time there). The breakfast was great and there is a manager onsite which was nice as well. The location was perfect for our needs and everyone made our trip amazing with their wonderful smiles and welcoming attitudes!

Our suite consisted of a living room with futon which could be made into a bed and a bedroom. Everything worked good for us. We rented a golf cart because the hotel is pretty far from the town. A bicycle would also be a good way to get into town however there are lots of little restaurants round the area also.

Hotel needed major improvement, desperately needs face lift. Restaurant staff and bar was awesome, El Divino's food was really good.....

We didn't realize that we needed to take a flight from the airport in Belize to the hotel, as it is on an island (ambergris Caye). It was a quiet hotel, very comfortable. The beach was very shallow. Rooms were very spacious. very relaxing stay. Snorkeling tour with the sharks was fabulous. Zoo was a great trip too, as well as the ruin. We fell in to this place and don't know if we would do it again because there was a lot of flying involved. However, I am so glad I had the experience in La Isla Bonita.

This hotel was outstandsing in every way.. I will stay here next time I go to Belize. This hotel has an excellent resturant with great food and reasonable prices.Everyone on staff was very kind and helpful at all times. I was pleased to fin d such a great place to stay at such inexpensive prices.Beautiful beach and great pools. I give Banana Beech resort my excellent recommendation for a place to stay in San Pedro, Belize.

Staff was great. The hotel pays for the transfer to/from the airport. We were on the first floor. All rooms surround the interior pool. The room is split into three parts: living/dining/kitchen, bedroom, bathroom. The A/C unit is in the bedroom area and doesn't cool off the entire space. The beds were hard as rocks. You could feel each and every spring and it made horrible noises anytime one of us moved. The bathroom had a horrible odor that never went away after three days. It also had a huge ant problem. The pool was pretty cold and the hot tub was just as cold as the pool. It is on the beach but the south end of the island. There is a fantastic bakery right up the road. The food at the restaurant is overpriced like most resorts. Search around for the best golf cart deals. You will find some for far less outside of the hotel. Apparently breakfast was supposed to be included in our reservation but we never received the coupons and the front desk wouldn't honor it which is why we found the bakery up the road. Its a great hotel if you want to do nothing. There is not much near it so just be prepared.

Perfect spot about 1 mile away from town. Easy to reach and easy to escape. Staff incredibly friendly & accommodating. Rooms spotless. Daily maid service crisp & efficient. My only gripe was the limited wifi. At first I thought this might be an island issue but had better success in town at several coffee shops. And the hotel had a good desktop for guests. Great trip. Thanks again.

Loved the ceramic tiles floors. Great for aching feet. Room kept superbly clean. Location convenient to beach, pool & town. Staff very friendly & accommodating. Will return soon.

Thank you for staying with us! We are working diligently with other stakeholders in the area as well as the Belize Tourism Board to find a solution that will alleviate the sargassum issues Belize is experiencing along with the entire Caribbean. We hope this did not cause too much of an issue for you and hope to see you back soon!

Hello, Thank you for staying with us! We have conveniently located a short 10-minute golf cart ride from town and we have several taxis stationed outside throughout the day that provides affordable transportation for our guests to head into town. We are sorry that you found our mattresses uncomfortable, however, we hope that the rest of your time with us was enjoyable!

Hello Alexandra, Thank you so much for your kind review! We're elated to learn that you found our staff and services to be top notch! We strive to always provide exceptional service and a relaxed, fun and enjoyable experience to all of our guests and that starts with our staff. Yes, the sargassum seaweed, which is being experienced across the Caribbean and even beyond, is an unfortunate act of nature that we are combating here on the island. We're glad that this did not adversely affect your experience with us. We hope to see you back soon on your next trip to Belize! Warm regards from all of us at Banana Beach Resort!
