When we arrived we sat down in an office with a lady who did not speak any English and it turned out there was no one who spoke English as we were then told that those folks had all been given the holiday for vacation!! When we asked for a concierge, we were given a map of the area! When we asked out the weekly House and Garden Tour, we were shown a website for out of town tours! The breakfast which was to be included was set in the area that did not have a real ceiling but a canvas cover and the temperature in the morning was about 35-40 degrees until about Noon! It was difficult to communicate "toast", eggs, coffee! When my husband went out in the morning to get coffee he was locked out when he returned and was finally let in by the handyman coming to work! We had a suite but the bathroom had no heating as it was separate room from the bedroom and for that time of year it was extremely uncomfortable. Unfortunately it did not meet our needs as expected. The location was convenient to the Jardin Plaza however.
The hotel looks amazing, nothing bad to say about the place itself, it’s beautiful and exactly in downtown. However, the restaurant and the service leave a lot to wish for. In general is like the staff has no idea about anything related to the hotel. We booked a deal with breakfast included, and then they gave us only coffee and juice... no food, and we asked the staff about food and they brought the menu to choose and we needed to pay for it. We asked for a manager and they said there was no one, that we needed to talk to the receptions ... it’s a boutique hotel, how come there is no manager?!?! Besides that, when you order coffee to the room, the coffee comes a bit cold, and no sugar, now of course we ask them to bring sugar but by the time it comes the coffee is really cold and of course we need to pay for it. Bottom line, no coordination between the management and the staff. It looks like no one knows how to run an hotel, no one has answers literally. But the prices are high like a very respectful hotel. It’s really something that ruin a vacation, when the place you staying makes you feel so frustrated. Recommendation: great if you are looking for a good location and nice and clean interiors. But don’t expect much, also no one speaks English, so it was even harder for me to express my concerns.
The Hotel is located right next to the main square, in the city center. The room overall cleaning can be improved. Continental breakfast not so interesting. The swimming pool area needs some upgrading. Friendly and helpful staff.
We stayed here several times and it has become the go to destination in SM. Friendly staff, great rooms and accommodations. The restaurant and bar on site is convenient. They fill up pretty quickly on Thursday night when they have salsa nights. The only inconvenience is the water accumulation on the hallways during the rainy season.
I loved the hotel. Beautiful views, excellent service. The room is spacious and has a nice view to the valley. Good amenities. I could hear the persons next door, so they could do something for this. I would definitely go back
My adult son and I traveled to San Miguel (for a week) to attend a wedding. After reviewing several of the nicer places, I tried to get a room at the Rosewood. They were booked. So, we "settled" for this place and very SO glad that we did. The "junior suite" was very nice, spacious for two adults, with very comfortable bedding. And, the location could NOT be beat. I'm a photographer, so was able to get up and walk a block to the historic cathedral, then roam the quaint, brick streets and get back to the hotel with ease. We had heard that noise could be a problem, and since I'm a light sleeper I was a bit concerned. Noise was never an issue. As a footnote to my precious Rosewood comment. We walked there 2-3 times and enjoyed their spectacular rooftop restaurant/bar. I don't think there is a better place for sunset, but I'll review that experience separately. The staff, service, accommodations, location and food and bar service at this place....incredible. Would definitely stay there again!
We are just back from a 6 night stay at this hotel, including Christmas eve and Christmas day. The rooms were large, exceptionally clean, everything was modern (great linens, soaps, bathrobes), and the location simply cannot be beat. The restaurant is terrific - but the music a bit too loud at dinner for our old ears. The staff were (really) extraordinary - very friendly, very helpful, and bent over backwards to be accomodating. We had a delightful stay and would absolutely stay here again and recommend it highly! Note to gringos: Our Spanish language skills are pretty weak to non-existent and it was clear to us that we were the only gringo guests - this was never a problem for us and an absolute part of the charm - but if you need to have everyone speak English, have breakfast before 8:30 - 9 am, and don't handle ambiguity well - this may not be your place.
We were iin San Miguel Allende for a week during "Dia De Los Muertos" and could not have been more pleased with Hacienda De Guadalupe Boutique Hotel. I had originally reserved a different hotel that turned out to be unacceptable and was lucky to find Hacienda De Guadalupe with one room left, it was perfect! The front desk and the waiters, Mario, Clemente, Juan, were like new friends and the restaurant was excellent. The Hacienda De Guadalupe Boutique Hotel felt more like a resort than a hotel. The rooms made us go "oh wow!". Marble floors, king bed,18-foot ceilings, huge bathtub and an even bigger shower. Our room was situated above a secluded heated swimming pool that was a dream to swim in. What we were impressed by was how quiet our room was, no street noise at all.The only thing we could hear were the cathedral bells reminding us of the time of day. Hacienda De Guadalupe Boutique was magic.
This is our second stay at Hacienda de Guadalupe and yes its improved ... the rooms are pleasant , and this time , the Air Con is working well , the hot water works and the TV has more US Channels ... The service is pleasant without being great and the team tries really hard .. A fantastic location and charming place to spend a few days ... The street is still blocked and getting in to the hotel takes a while as you are restricted entrance to the hotel ... Eventually they come and help .. fortunately it was a wonderful day but would hate to do this in the rain ... I still cannot understand why the City makes access to this street so difficult ... All in all another delightful short stay ... I wish there as a rating between "Average and Very Good" as this place is Good , but "Very Good" is a little stretch ..
We spent two nights here on a romantic getaway and I must say everything was excellent. The location is just perfect close to everything, as for the room spacious luxurious and very comfortable, service was attentive and gracious, I would definitely recommend this hotel to others, you can’t go wrong staying here.
