The Melody Ranch Motel is a charming, vintage and affordably priced motel. It is centrally located on Spring St in old Paso Robles. This nostalgic motel was built in the late 50s and is very well maintained. There is a small out door swimming pool to entertaining the kids. Our room and toilet was clean and comfortable. The mattress to our beds were firm. There was a coffee maker, small frig and an air conditioner in our room. We booked our one night thru Booking.com and the price for a Friday night was just over $100.00 with tax. There are many nearby restaurants and entertainment options i.e. fine dining, shopping and a movie theater all within walking distant. The manager Frank was very friendly and helpful with suggestions on what to visit and where to dine.

We stay here every three months or so. Paso Robles is an easy drive from our home. So we visit as often as we can. Melody Ranch is a nice, clean, friendly place within walking distance of every downtown Paso wine tasting room. What's not to love? Our strategy is to drive around Paso -- visit two or three new wineries. And then return home, offload our treasure and walk around town, visiting more tasting rooms. The proprietors know us by name and are always there to try to make special requests happen. We haven't had a bad night here. And my wife just loves the gigantic oak tree growing on property. I think she's secretly a druid.

My friend and I were booked for a 3 night stay in early April. Upon arrival the hotel was not able to complete the check in process because their card reader was not communicating with the bank so they gave us our room keys and told us to come back later. We unloaded our belongings into our room, closed the windows which were wide open, and promptly went out to get dinner and walk around town. Upon returning to the hotel, we unlocked our room and when we entered we were immediately hit with an overpowering smell of natural gas from the heater. The smell was strong enough to signal a high concentration of natural gas in the air and both my friend and I started getting headaches from it almost immediately. We went straight to the front office to bring the situation to their attention and the staff member who was working proceeded to light a match in a room filled with the smell of gas in order to re-light the pilot light that had gone out on the heater that is as old as the building. Because no other rooms were available at the property that night, she first tried to convince us it was OK to stay there and just sleep with the windows open so the room would air out. When we told her that was not acceptable, she finally offered to let us cancel the reservation and find a new hotel at which to stay but she offered absolutely no help at all in finding another hotel room at 8:30 pm on a Friday night. Luckily we were able to find a room at a different hotel for our 3 night stay. Needless to say, I will never book a room at this hotel again and would never recommend it either.

This motel seemed authentic to the 1960s, but was clean and well maintained. The room and bathroom were small, but the room included coffee service and a small refrigerator. Our bed was very comfortable and it was a good value for an overnight. The owners/staff were friendly and helpful. There is free parking and it is an easy walk to the shops and restaurants in the center of town.

We stayed here on our way south towing a car on a trailer. This is an older motel but very clean and very quiet. The proprietor reserved parking for us so we could park the truck and trailer on the premises. Very nice accommodations in a good area of town with reasonable rates. I highly recommend.

This is a lovely little motel in a very convenient location in downtown Paso Robles. It is family-run and they are charming. The place was absolutely spotless, with period fixtures in great repair. A little imagination could make this more of a vintage charmer, but as it is was serviceable and a fair deal.

First time to visit. Loved the old style and felt comfortable here. We will return. Very comfortable bed. Easy walking to Italian restaurant next door. Heater works well very small tv in room but we didn’t mind. The managers couldn’t have been better, very nice and helpful.

We always stay at the Melody Ranch Motel when we go wine tasting in Paso Robles. This is our 3rd year. The place is clean and Frank does a great job with the grounds. It is close to the wineries and all the restaurants and shops. We love staying here.

Great little motel within walking distance of all the tasting rooms. Small pool but clean. Old rooms (tv from the 70s), but western style charming! Would definitely stay there again but just set your expectations accordingly.

We much enjoyed our stay at Melody Ranch. The owner and staff are great, very responsive and helpful. The location is perfect - we walked everywhere we went in town - dinner never farther than three or four blocks. The reviews that refer to vintage charming, old family run, kind and welcoming, and all the rest are all accurate. We will be back.
