Visited the capri for a week in May, and was somewhat nervous having read various reviews. However while the accommodation was basic it was clean, and perfectly reasonable at the price paid for my 1 week stay. The pool area was well maintained, and the supermarket was well stocked with reasonable prices.. I would also give a mention to the reception staff who were really nice, and friendly. The down side were the hire charges for the kettle, coffee machine etc, which I thought was harsh bearing in mind the self catering label.. I declined the hire, but think that a refundable deposit would be more reasonable. Overall if you are looking for cheap, and cheerful you will find it at the Capri... The clue is in the price
Capri bungalows are basic accommodation but are clean enough but a bit dated but for the money asked they are fine. We had now problems making any meals we wanted when there form homemade meatballs and pasta to paella The onsite restaurant is ok as we ate there twice. The staff were all helpful and friendly . The pool area is clean and again my only complaint would be the sunbeds and the beds to sleep in both uncomfortable. We would return again
No problems again. 3rd time here and really don't know what people are complaining about. You get what you pay for. Yes it's basic and it's quiet but look before you book would be my advice. It's perfect for a chilled out base to explore this wonderful Island.
From the moment we arrived we sort of knew what to expect, from the pictures, it looks like a really nice place, but don't let that fool you. I don't know how it has got so many good reviews. When we arrived the woman at the reception was so rude and pointed to where our Bungalow was, this was right by the main road, and the front door was hanging off the wall, not a safe place for a young child to sleep, it was dirty and smelly inside with a broken bathroom and very dark inside the Bungalow. We complained straight away and got moved to another apartment which wasn't much better. The stairs are dangerous, the front door wouldn't lock properly, it smelt awful, and for self catering there is no kettle, toaster, oven, microwave and very limited plates etc, you have to hire everything. We tried to make the best of a bad thing so we stuck it out for a few days before having to find another hotel as this was so bad. For a couple of days you couldn't get to the pool as all the local residents etc came over and took over the place, the food in the restaurant was awful, as well as shouting from the restaurant from the staff having rows etc. There was a fight outside our apartment at 2.00am one morning as well. This place is also in the middle of nowhere so unless you get a taxi, you are stuck!! The final straw was when a new neighbour moved in and was using it as a sex pad, as that was all we could hear all night and even during the day. When we complained nothing was done, and it was only when we checked out early did they try to offer us another apartment, knowing that we had already booked somewhere else. Please take my advice if you are thinking of book here, to avoid it at all costs.
The bungalow was small, dated and bathroom chipped. The worlds most uncomfy sofa bed which when you arrive at midnight don’t expect to make up yourself! I’ve stayed in caravans where the heating and lights have been put on ready for arrival. We didn’t find much to do in the area and the on site food was steep 37euros for breakfast and a juice for four. No poolside orders and if you need the loo you can’t use the restaurant toilet if wet from the pool! The bungalow could have done with a toaster and kettle but we managed for breakfast and lunch. Such luxaries are available to rent for the week!! The traffic woke me up every night and I missed a nice view to look at. Also the bungalows are very busy and if you sit out you don’t really get much peace as you hear every conversation along the row. Also if your neighbours smoke the clothes you put out to air reek. The pool was clean and more than substantial and they are not fussed if you take a picnic and own drinks. Not an amazing choice of local shops mini supermarkets to get by but again on the steep side nearly 4euros for half a melon. We got a taxi 5 euros to Lidl and stocked up. I’m sure there’s lots to see but we didn’t really know where to go to. We took pot luck one night and went to Melonares classy area by the light tower and had a nice meal in a penguin bar. One night we went to the yumbo centre lots of stall shops and restaurants but not my cup of tea. It’s over four floors and felt like we ate in the basement of a multi story car park! I was after somewhere more traditional. We also had a few meals at the bungalows next door Nogul or something. Had delicious steak and a lovely starter of acacado and prawns. On the last night we took a taxi to Abrasa grill 2 euros 80 to get there and not far but all uphill and it was the perfect way to finish the week. The free bus to the beach is handy but your restricted to timings and I found a faff. I was more than happy to go home from this trip. I’ve stayed in better equipped tents and it was disappointing to see how tatty parts were. There’s like an awning on the front of the restaurant that’s all ripped no effort to disguise and it just looked shabby. Also a huge sign outside that says live music not that we witnessed any it was more empty chairs at empty tables 😏
Do not waste your money, the bungalows are awful. When we arrived the receptionist was miserable, unhelpful and barely spoke to us, she directed us to our accommodation at the back of the resort by a main road . When we found it , we unlocked the patio door and the whole frame moved with it. Inside was horrendous, dated, smelt and very pokey. The bath was all chipped and so were the tiles. We went back to reception and she begrudgingly offered us another apartment by the pool, the location was better but inside still wasn’t great. The stairs are very dangerous with no hand rail and the bathroom was very tatty. We made the best of it for a few nights and then we had neighbors arrive. Omg, they were ‘active’ all night long and even in the day. My children were wondering what the strange noises were. The beds were banging against our bedroom wall. After 2 nights of this, we booked another hotel and completely moved out. Do not book here.
Clean, friendly staff nice pool plenty of Sun beds & Sun was shining all day great value for what you pay take no notice of the bad reviews & enjoy & relax ,rooms are basic all you do is sleep in the apartments
I found this place to be better than I expected. It is basic but better equipped than other places costing more. The staff were friendly and helpful. Shop was good for basics. Restaurant on site but didn't use but looked good. This place is definitely not luxury and in need of a makeover but the price reflects this. My unit was clean and comfortable and was peaceful although the walls are thin and sound travels. I only used as a place to sleep and shower and was happy with Capri, an easy 45 minutes walk to beach or free bus service.
Last day of 10 .. was a bit nervous as read poor reviews .. all Staff could not be more helpful and friendly .. on site shop was the most reasonable we’ve used ever .. pool lovely not heated but not cold very clean .. poolside clean sunny plenty space& beds .. bungalow basic but not mislead with information and pictures provided.. everything needed and clean .. not close to beach nice walk though and free return bus provided 3 times daily .. am already looking to book again for next year
If you're looking for a crash pad with a bed, bathroom and a fridge, this will likely suit your needs. If you'd prefer somewhere with adequate kitchen facilities, a comfortable bed and in a great location, avoid here at all costs. Our apartment had nothing more than a fridge in the kitchen. The cooking facility was a two-ring hob plate. You can hire a toaster, microwave and kettle from reception. Even the TV has to be paid for. The steep, narrow tiled stairs would make it very tricky for young children or anyone with mobility issues. The beds were really hard with just one thin pillow each. The (avocado!) bathroom desperately needed replacing. We reported a constantly-dripping tap two days into our break, yet five days later it remained unrepaired. The pool area is perfectly clean, and even in March the water was warm enough to swim in. No cushions on the plastic sun loungers though, which makes lying down very uncomfortable. We asked to pay to retain our room for a few extra hours on our departure day, but despite the complex being very quiet with lots of unoccupied units, we were told this was not possible due to being "too busy". There are no poolside changing rooms, so the restaurant loos had to be used for changing. Reception staff in general are surly and unenthusiastic, except the waiters in the restaurant who really went out of their way to make everyone happy. The restaurant is fine, with a good selection of salads, steaks, fish and pizzas. The nearby Holiday World complex is being refurbished until July, and its closure means there are very few restaurants within walking distance. It's €5 in a taxi to town. This was a budget last-minute break for us, but next time I'd head to Puerto Rico. We were there three months ago and it just seemed to be much more enjoyable.
