I liked the location, but I extremely didn’t like 2 things: 1) our apartment was next to an apartment with 3 or 4 cats, the smell of cat food and cats itself was breathing inside our room, thankfully none of us were allergic, but the smell is very unpleasant. The instructions on the website said that pets were not allowed, so we didn’t understand this situation. 2) the mattress was very very hard, I normally sleep ok in hotels, but in this hotel i always woke up with shoulder or hip pain (I sleep on my side), so I wouldn’t go back.

This place is fantastic. The value for the money spent is fantastic.

Wonderful! Beautiful and very relaxing with the beach across the street. Comfortable suites! Staff helpful and always polite.

We had an amazing stay. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The grounds are clean and beautiful. The food at the restaurant was great. We would return in a second!

Highly recommended, this Hotel is located in a great place, it is clean, well staffed, you will enjoy your stay.

The best place to stay in Las Terrenas. Friendly people and an exceptional view of the sea and the beach.

Upon our arrival the hotel did not have a record of our reservation but they kindly upgraded us to a better room! This is good service. The location is excellent, across the road to the beach and a 5 minute walk to the town and restaurants in Las Terrenas. The hotel restaurant was surprisingly good as well. We enjoyed the morning breakfast buffet, sitting outside looking at the ocean. Overall a positive experience.

Hotel Alisei had a very welcoming and friendly staff. We had two couples in our party and all immensely enjoyed our stay. We loved the pool, the sunken bar in the pool, the beach being right across the street, and the easy walk into town. We would definitely come back!

The hotel came recommended by friends who live in DR, and we are quite happy we followed the recommendations! We had the cheapest room in the hotel, and still it was fabulous: simple, functional and contemporary (the owner is an architect and he personally oversaw the works - it shows). The location of the hotel is enviable, a short walk from the village yet away from the busting noise of cars and motorcycles in the village streets. The hotel is on a promontory, with unimpeded views of the ocean. The beach in front of the hotel is clean and one can walk 1/2 mile to the left and 1 mile to the right along one of the best beaches of DR (bring goggles because the rocky fundal hosts beautiful fish). The chef of the hotel restaurant (Baraonda) is simply the best in Las Terrenas (we tried a few other places highly recommended, but returned disappointed and regretting not having eaten at Baraonda). Once again, the owners (husband Italian and wife Dutch) living on the premises ensures consistent and high quality of all services. The staff is plenty, prompt and personable (we took pictures with some of them). You must also try the spa, directed by Luis, who is competent and friendly. We took advantage of our stay to explore also other beautiful beaches of the Samana peninsula: you cannot miss Cayo Levantado and Playa Rincon (both can be reached only by boat from Samana and Las Galeras, respectively), but also the nearby Coson beach was worth the trip.

Contemporary and functional decor. Quiet rooms. Great hotel location in relation to the best stretch of the beach and the village. The best food in town is at the hotel restaurant (Baraonda), and after trying other "best" places in town I always ate there. The staff is consistently striking a perfect balance of friendliness, attention and care. Owners are hands on and stay on the premises frequently checking on the smooth running of all. The spa was also a pleasant surprise and the staff was competent and friendly. Would return to the hotel in a beat. By the way, as a gay couple we appreciated the open mindedness of the staff and owners

The hotel was just out of town, well a 5-10 minute walk, which was a benefit as away from the hussle and bustle on town, but close enough to stroll there (nice walk along the beach). No lights on the street in the evening so have to be careful traffic wise but not a deterrant. Taxis available but personally prefer the stroll. The rooms are large, probably a little dated but nice enough. Well equipped for those who feel the need to cook or such, a wine bottle opener was sufficient for our needs. Big downside on the room was the bed, very hard and not comfortablue. Good breakfast included and overall good value.

Great location, nice beach; nice pool; little bar; restaurant - all for a very reasonable price! Only concern was the AC: rite on your face, in front/top of the bed! Either you turn it off or you freeze... Try to get a room with a different AC LOCATION!

friendly professional- casual- great service- roomy apt. - breakfast was really nice- great bar and rest. great area... you cant do better in Las Terrenas
