Is wonderfull vacation en this property I like all

This is an amazing place. People are always happy. I loved the food. I’ll came back..

The beds were hard to sleep on. I like the Staff very accommodation special shout out to the chef and arisneidi. My sister is allergic to gluten and they went above and beyond. Thank you

Quality service from all the staff. The food was tasty and plenty.

Beautiful Beach for long walks & calm water for snorkeling and swimming Review of Grand Bahia Principe El Portillo Reviewed today I loved the location of this resort on a very long stretch of beach without any other high rise hotels in sight. You could walk as far as you wanted in either direction and when you encountered locals or vendors they were always friendly. The resort felt safe and secure and the employees were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and we were pleased to have hot water in the shower, cold air coming out of the air conditioner, daily housekeeping service and no bugs in sight. The housekeepers kept our refrigerator stocked with whatever we requested for beverages. The fitness room was small but I was always able to get on equipment when I wanted to work out. There was a sign up for reserving tennis courts and we enjoyed playing. While people did reserve their spot on the beach or near the pool with towels or books shade is easy to find with all of the trees lining the beach. It's irritating the resort allows folks to do this but it happens almost everywhere. There was lots to do if a person wanted to keep busy. Yoga, Zumba, Bingo, table tennis, bags, etc. We enjoyed playing beach volleyball in spite of the folks who don't understand you aren't supposed to touch the net. The food was better than average for an all inclusive in my opinion. I'm not a foodie though. We reserved our ala carte restaurants as soon as we got there but still ended up

Very pleasant and accommodating staff. They obviously work tirelessly for the clientele. Just wish more Northeast airports flew into the closer airport instead of all the travel from Santo Domingo airport.

Beach is GREAT. However, one always has to play "chair game"...Food is standard for an AI. Pools are fine. Resort is rather quite which is a plus for many guests. Excellent value.

This hotel is subpar with a very poor staff. The staff is does not provide exceptional customer service and lacks professional behavior. During my stay, the lock to my room was broken. I complained numerous times to the front desk and every time I went back to the desk to follow up they had forgotten to resolve the issue. Their response was that I needed to complain to the original person who I reported the issue to and that they weren't responsible. The front desk is supposed to be able to help with any issues you have during your stay and their staff was everything but. Upon checking out, we called for a shuttle to help us transport our luggage from our room to the front desk, we waited 30 minutes and no one arrived. We had to end up dragging our heavy luggage ourselves. The only good thing about this hotel was their food.

El Portillo is a nice resort but there are a few things lacking. I found some of the staff to be indifferent and not very accommodating. The room AC was weak, the room fridge was barely cold, and the TV reception weak. Otherwise food was good. The pool area was great. And the beach was amazing, best part of the resort. Clear blue turquoise water making it easy to snorkel. They also have a kiddie pool area that is great for the kids. My family enjoyed everything except for the little things I mentioned above.

Great everything except the food. Food was really not good but we had s great time anyway. The Brazilian steak house was the only decent restaurant and the food at the buffet was missing something. Samana - it’s beaches and mountains are spectacular.

Good hotel to relax and unwind. Laid back atmosphere and good food.

What a great experience, from the moment you walk into the lobby. Every single employee at this hotel is extremely caring and sweet. From the maintenance guy to the house keepers and of course your bartenders. This is a place where you will definitely feel pampered and spoiled by all of the employees.

I would definitely come back to stay here again ! The rooms were comfortable and clean. I loved that the staff is super friendly and goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed. They have plenty of water activities and events going on throughout the resort. I enjoyed my stay very much!

Great eco-friendly all inclusive resort! One of the smaller Grand Bahia resorts, this little gem seems to cater more to Canadians and Euro. Mainly b/c Samana airport is 30 mins away from resort. Americans have to go thru Santo Domingo Airport (2 1/2 hr car ride) or Puerto Plata (3 1/2hrs). Ride isn't terrible. beautiful landscape views! Buffet food is delicious (Las Dalias) and offers a lot of options. The reviews claim it's the same all the time. Nonsense! It's an all inclusive, there is variety, pick what you like and move on! We did the romantic beach dinner for my birthday ($180) Francis our waiter was lovely & amazing! They were very accommodating and helped me w/vegetarian menu based off of options from their restaurant menus. The end result was delicious! It was all a lot of food! No bar in pool but it's in front. Not a big deal to get in & out to get drinks. Pool is small but deep & clean. Snack bar and buffet had outside beach view seating. It was great to eat overlooking the beach! They offer some water sports each day for 1 hr - free. We did the snorkeling and although there is dead coral we got to see some gorgeous sea life. The beach is very well taken care of. We got a great tan! Most straw beach umbrellas were taken but wasn't a prob to get one or shade under palm trees. Drinks were too sugary but did the job. Room was spacious, clean, nice bathroom w jacuzzi & had satellite cable (HBO,etc). Room service is included! Def good buy for price

The biggest con was the distance from the airport available to us at Santo Domingo which was 2 1/2 hrs away. We rented a private van by Dominican Airport Transfers. They were very prompt, professional & safe. Price was also reasonable, I think it was around $170 rt. Anyway we got to the front desk & was helped immediately. I paid for a jr king suite & requested a room close to lobby & 1st floor. They gave me the jr king suite but on 2nd flor & far away from the lobby. My room was 27216. Was a little disappointed but then learned they gave me the new area & my location was nice. Room was really nice & was always cleaned & the mini fridge was always stacked up & it was FREE! My room had a big king size bed & had a small sofa bed for my small 11 yr old daughter. The room was in perfect condition & it was perfect for us. Beach was beautiful, always was able to find a seat. Sand was soft & water was clear and warm. There was some people selling but were not pushy like in Puerto Plata or Punta Cana. Pool was nice. Found seats at times but was pretty good considering the hotel was fully booked. Food was good & always available. There were two buffets. 1 that was opened mostly throughout the day, Las Olas, it was on the beach & the other had it's usual times. There were restaurants, Italian, Brazilian which were good. The seafood was ok & we didn't get to the French. The animation team & shows were fun. Kids club was fun 9a-5p. Movie & mini disco at night for kids. Daughter loved it!

I loved this resort shout out to the entertainment staff and reception they are phenomenal!,,,definitely I will be going back

The resort is great, staff is awesome and it's kid friendly and enjoyable! Loved the food !

Call in April to arrange my room request and come to August to find mistakes that we ready spoke.about. but thanks God they have Mr. AMILCAR. in that place and after that Vacation. Perfect .
