Recently my daughter and I went for a little get-away from Madrid. We only decided the day before and were very happy to find this hotel offering a room with a fully equipped kitchen, parking and wifi, which was great as I brought along some work. The room looked brand new and modern and really had all the equipment of an apartment. The little bedroom has a bed big enough for a couple, and the sofa in the living room changes into another double bed, which we used. Even though the windows are close to a street, the street noises died down rather early compared to the city noise of Madrid. Everything was spotlessly clean and in walking distance of the beach and old town. The car was kept in a fenced in lot behind the building.

We stayed at the hotel during our short visit to the Costa Tropical. We’d checked out the hotel on various sites and given its rating – we booked for three nights. The hotel is lovely, well maintained and a nice mix of old and new. We had asked for a quiet room and were given one at the back of the hotel. The only noise we heard was children playing in the yard around the back – they were off school for Easter. The room was comfortable, the beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked well (when needed) and the WiFi was as good if not better than anywhere else. The staff we met were helpful and always on hand. We didn’t take breakfast because the town is near enough and ‘desayuno’ can be had for as little as €2 each (coffee and tostada y tomate/jamon).

Ok room with a lot of noise from the street. Wifi ok. Front desk friendly and helpfull. Roof terrasse with sun beds. Breakfast was nothing special but ok. Central with a short walk to a restaurant with good wines.

This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel and would certainly stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting Salobrena. The staff are excellent, so helpful, the location for the old town and beach are great, the rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean and the roof terrace is a fabulous place to relax with a great view!

Don't be mistaken by the outside of this hotel. Once you enter you can see the quality of this place. Spotlessly clean and pleasant, all the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious with comfy beds and plenty of hanging space and drawers. Nearer the town than the beach but that is what we wanted but the beach is still only a five minute walk, ten if you amble like us

This excellent value, friendly hotel in Salobreña was the highlight of our trip to the town. It was off season, and mid week so we basically had the entire hotel to ourselves. A superb, relaxing afternoon reading and lounging in the rooftop jacuzzis will be a memory that will stay with me for a long time.

I stayed in Hotel Avenida for two nights recently and really enjoyed my , time in Salobrena, mind you the excellent weather helped. It was just after Easter so hotel was very quiet, not a problem. It is located ten minutes walk from good beach and five minutes from town centre, ideal. Salobrena is much quieter than resorts west of Malaga and very good value.

My wife and I stayed in the Avenida the very first week of the 2016 season. We were a little disappointed with the room as it had no view at all but it was perfectly serviceable and very clean. This is a good 3 star hotel that makes for a good base for a few days. I would not want to be here for a week or so but I am most probably a little spoiled from lots of business travel. It is very reasonably priced and you can have breakfast (basic but ok) for 6 euros. They charge 11 euros for parking in a very compact car park. Give this a miss as its a nightmare if to manoeuvre in! The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The roof terrace is a nice space to spend an hour unwinding with a beer in the jacuzzi,s. We would use again for. A day or so if we went back.

The hotel room was clean and spacious and the staff on the reception were wonderful. it felt far more Spanish than some of the hotels I have stayed in. The downside was the noise from the road so I would definitely ask for a quiet room.

As we stayed on a 'room only' basis, so cannot comment on breakfast. The hotel is ideally placed for both the beach and the town, the staff are extremely helpful...only minor irritation is the early morning sound of the cleaning staff dragging furniture across the tiled floor!. Our room was kept spotlessly clean, although the outlook towards the ugly builders yard at the rear of the hotel was less than inspiring!. ...(however there was no traffic noise). The roof terrace has great views of the old town and the castle, which compensated for the lack of decent views from our room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the 'Tropical' and would definitely return.
