Wonderful hotel. I’m adding it to my favourites as I travel around the country quite a bit. The staff were lovely, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the parking was excellent. I ate in the restaurant and the food and service were both excellent. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area.

Central location and excellent for walking into the city - parking was a real bonus , very secure and safe. Staff members very personable and professional. My only comment would be that the dining menu could be improved to consider a main course offer of Steak / Salad and Fish ? - that said the food was very good and I throughly enjoyed my supper, the wine was excellent too.

Lovely old building on the river. Easy walk on town path through scenic Harnham water meadows, with views of the Cathedral, to the city centre. Great to have free parking for clients. The room had everything you need, hairdryer, tea & coffee pods, good bathroom and products. Our room looked over a roof, a view would have been better, but booked late. Some noise from below, but all quiet after 10pm and slept very well. Friendly staff in the dining room, enjoyed evening meal & breakfast.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough! Wish we had stayed longer. It's the perfect picturesque English countryside inn and pub. The food, atmosphere, and staff were all perfect. They even have delicious vegan breakfast!

Had a good 1 night stay. Staff were great as I had made a mistake when booking but they happily sorted this out with no fuss at all. Restaurant is closed 2 evenings a week but they have a great hut in the beer garden serving pub food which was really good, thankfully it wasn’t raining. Room was very clean and a good size. It even had a Dyson fan in it. I would definitely recommend.

Something a bit different, an old converted mill where the water still passes through the restaurant! Staff were spot on, nothing too much problem. Building is bent and twisted with age, so not much is straight and uneven squeaky floorboard adds to the character. Breakfast is in the bar in the morning, evening meals either in the restaurant or in the large beer garden, over looking the mill stream. You can also have a beer sitting out the front, watching people pass on the busy town walk path, the town being 15/20 min walk through a nature reserve, leading to a park and the town beyond. Local kids having a great time playing in the expanse of water coming out of the mill, as the water is very swallow, knee deep at the deepest, but most ankle deep, so very safe. Room are comfortable and we had a room over looking the water outlet from the mill, so it was very restful listening to the water flow into the river. The bathroom was very clean with plenty of very hot water for showers. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Quaint and comfortable in a great location.

Staying in a 12th century Old Mill Hotel was unique! Room was a good size, bed comfy and property very clean. Choice of restaurant and bar food depending on the weeknight. Good sized servings. The water for the mill runs through the restaurant. Large seating area at rear. New owners and staff are very friendly and hard working and accommodated us firing up the pizza oven when we arrived late for dinner when the kitchen had closed. Location is great and it’s a short walk to Salisbury Cathedral which is not to be missed.

Old Mill Stay

Very friendly manager on checking in. Comfortable bed and white bed linen. The only snag was that breakfast is served between 9 and 11. We had to leave at 8 in the morning so left without breakfast. Such a shame. We did ask if there was a possibility of an earlier breakfast, but, unfortunately the chef couldn't accommodate our request due to food prep for the lunchtime Sunday session. All in all a lovely setting with comfortable beds, just a little disappointed with the breakfast timings, toast and cereal would have been adequate!

Stayed in much better rooms, location, staff great

Most importantly staff were kind, helpful and friendly in both hotel and garden bar restaurant. The hotel sits in a beautiful and quiet location easily accessed and simple parking. Easy access via traffic free footpath to Salisbury on foot. Suggest mapping App if you don't know the area. Twin Room was clean and practical, but minimal. En suite bathroom was okay, but shower not great especially for taller people. The provision of towels and toiletries was of good standard. Tassimo coffee machine and bottled water provided was again good, but compact twin room didn't really lend to sitting and drinking coffee. Evening food menu was okay and a nice outdoor beer garden, but Salisbury worth the walk for wider food variety. As we stayed a single night and left early the serving of breakfast no earlier than 9am was an irritation. Although it became evident Salisbury has very few options for breakfast before 8am! Overall a great location with good staff, and potentially better rooms than the twin we stayed in. No complaints, but have just stayed in better accomodation hence the average rating.
