Worst experience ever trying to book a Room. The owner gave me a price, the manager gave me another. The price quoted for me was above the internet price. Be mindful. There must be better hotel experiences in Salinas.
I went whit my family because we were taking a tour of Salinas the beaches is great the restaurants the bakery but this place should get more details and more service I went to call for reservation they ask for my credit card number and I told the guy no way first come and show me the place first we had an argument on the phone and I told them im not paying for anything until I see something so it took 27 minutes for a guy scruffy looking man in a 1970 banana Bike arrived whit the key in hand he show us the first room and he said in a rude way Are You going to pay or not man hurry up I was like what did you just raise you're voice at me I said you know what were leaving then he was charging me $25 Dollars for just seeing the room and I said hell no man im sorry but you just screw up man maybe if you guys update a lot of stuff then maybe I come back it was awful so until they don't have a good personnel better furniture and common sense im not coming back
If TA did not force me to add a rating, I would not give this place anything. However I am forced to give it at least a one, and it should not get even that. If you value your safety, sanity, and money...stay away from this place. Not only is it difficult to find, but the neighborhood that leads into the motel becomes more decrepit the closer you get to the dwelling. We pulled up, and after a five minute search around the grounds, discovered that there was not office on the premises. It was raining, and we had hoped to get in our room, shower, and head to relatives house in Playita. We had also been on the road for a few hours, and wanted to rest for a few minutes before we went visiting. I called the number for the Playa Apartments, and "Jose" answered the phone. I had originally reserved the room with American Express. He stated that he did not accept AMEX, and I would have to give him another credit card number over the phone. Reluctantly, and to the chagrin of my buddy, I did. I asked him where the office was, and when we could expect to receive a key. He stated that there was no office, and that somebody from The Marina would bring me the key. Well, after about 45 minutes and a few more call to "Jose", the key finally showed up. A scruffy looking man on a 1970s "Banana Bike" arrived...key in hand. I took a quick ,look at the tab on the key, and realized that the room number did not match any that we had seen posted on the motel doors. Bike man drove away, I called to him, he ignored me, and drove away. He we were, in the middle of a slum, in a motel next to a house that had a yard full of rabid, fierce, barking dogs, with nobody to assist us. I once again called "Jose", and he suddenly pretended to not speak or understand English well. and to have a bad phone connection. We finally found the room tuck away behind some back hall, under a flight of stairs. The entire experience left my friend and me very anxious, and a bit scared. The room wreaked of bug spray, and it was dark and foreboding. The view from our window was that of a chain link fence, with barbed wire wrapped around the top. We felt as though we were in a crack house. After one half hour, we decided to leave. "Jose" suddenly regained his English speaking and apprehension skills and told us that we will not get out deposit back, and refused to do even after we told him how unsafe and dissatisfied we felt. At that point, we did not care. We just wanted out of there, and we left. The owner and the dwelling were a huge disappointment. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!
