Salida Stay at The Mayfly Hotel
Our first time traveling to Salida and we booked The Mayfly Hotel to accommodate our party of 4 adults for just over one week. The condo itself is basically brand new and located in what appears to be a new retail/living/rental area. It is on the SE edge of town as you enter on Hwy 50. Since it seems so new, there are just a few minor things they are probably still refining for a better guest stay. The condo itself was very spacious and clean (although it is pet friendly, so a few pet hairs were noticeable on the floors and top bedding). The kitchen was pretty well stocked with pots, pans and utensils, etc, but no foil/plastic wrap or cooking spices of any kind, so bring your own if you plan to do any cooking. No Keurig, just a Nespresso. Also, there is no iron/ironing board. We texted Pinon and they offered to bring one, but we just bought some de-wrinkling spray instead. Check-out instructions asked us to put all towels in the washing machine (which is a very nice LG set) and start. There was no detergent, so we used some of our own. Just very minor blips in our trip. The one major surprise was discovering the unit was on the 3rd floor of a building with no elevator. That was not revealed until we received our check-in instructions. There are 2 very long flights of stairs to climb. This was a huge issue for 2 in our party. We made it work but wouldn't have booked this condo had this been stated in their listing. Overall, would recommend but be aware.
