We visited during December but were there on a religious holiday leading into a weekend so the hotel was a little busy considering it was the offseason. However, overall our stay was extremely good. Room was reasonably big, bathroom was nice, and bed was comfortable. Wasn't too far out from the city centre, but because it is perched on the hills, there is a climb to get to the hotel from the town meaning there are stairs, or an escalator that does shut (times depend on the season). The staff were very accommodating and helpful letting us know what we could do, and even calling attractions to ensure they were open for us. Overall a good stay!
I travelled with my parents....we stayed at the hotel only for one night... Nice hotel, nice room and view..... Quality prize is good.. .... recommend to park at the hotel and then use the stairs to go the the centre. good position to get to salerno centre. Need to be very fit...
It was off-season so the hotel was rather empty. Check-in was speedy, we dropped off our bags and drove to the ferry and had lunch in Amalfi. Having a car was good because while there is a stairway to the center city it looked very steep - about a 30 minute walk. Our breakfast was brought to our room (again - maybe because it was early November). We only stayed one night but enjoyed our stay. Our room faced the bay so it was quiet.
Bad experience in a city we wish we’d skipped altogether. We planned on reaching Salerno by ferry from Amalfi. That morning, we called the Villa Poseidon front desk 3 times to inquire about how best to get a taxi from the ferry port to the hotel – no answer! We tried again when we arrived at the ferry port (and couldn’t find a taxi), and the woman at the front desk (Rachel) offered to send us a phone number for a taxi service. She refused to take the two minutes to call us a taxi herself! There was NO way two tourists who do not speak Italian would have been able to navigate this ourselves. We eventually got a local restaurant to call a taxi for us – how ridiculous! When we got there for check in and expressed frustration, Rachel just snickered and didn’t even apologize. It was an extremely rude way to “welcome” guests to your hotel! She also refused to introduce us to her manager (who we eventually met later, and was MUCH better to deal with). On top of that: the mini refrigerator in the hotel didn’t work, nor did the hotel’s ice machine. There was no safe to store our valuables and passports. We could not wait to get out of this “four star” hotel.
The hotel is amazing. They only have a few rooms so it's perfect to escape the crowded Amalfi coast. The interior is very cosy and clean. The poolside has more than enough sun beds for everyone (so no fighting like in other hotels). The pool is bigger than it looks on pictures and the terrace has a lovely view. In this hotel clients our more important than making big money. We loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the Amalficoast. They also have private stairs to the city center. Which is also very beautiful. It's less crowded than the other cities but it has an amazing atmosphere as well. If we could, we would give this place 6 stars. Because this place is an oasis of rest in a crowded coastline.
My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights. The reception was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious with a huge bathroom including a spa bath. The air conditioning was first class. Parking was free and on site. This hotel overlooks the waterfront and most of Salerno. Breakfast was the best we have had in Italy. This hotel has a pool and a terrace where breakfast is served. It is approximately 300 steps to the street below to walk into town. An escalator takes you up most of the way but closes at 10 pm in summer. Town is a 10 minute walk. There are a lot of restaurants going toward the town. Window shutters block out light and noise. This hotel is quite elegant and very comfortable to stay. I would recommend this to anyone. The only point is that if you have a walking problem and no car the stairs could be challenging. I am 70 years old and had no issue. Great views.
Mariangelique greated us with open arms and really made us feel like we were in our own home. She took care of our every need and was extremely helpful when we had a problem with our car. She was very understanding. She upgraded us to a very big room, which was beautiful, and oh so comfortable! The pool was over 80 degrees and that experience was delightful. The hotel only has 11 rooms--all soundproof! What a sleep. Thank you Mariangelique.
- The Rooms were in terrible condition, Bad Smell, Cheap bunkbeds placed in a 'Deluxe Double Room' - Incorrect administration, was forced to pay an additional charge even after the bill was closed. - Staff/Manager was very rude, screaming and intimidating, unacceptable behavior towards customers - Avoid this Hotel!!! + +The Location was very good, with easy acces to the surrounding highways as well as ferries traveling along the whole Amalfi Coast.
Stayed here for 3 nights. Faultless cleanliness great view from the pool. Huge room and excessively large bathroom. Our room did not overlook the harbour sadly and no balcony or terrace which we were not aware of when booking. Although i could not specifically complain there was a strange feel about the hotel. The staff were nice but just functional. I used a bath towel which ripped when i was drying myself as it was threadbare. Not a boutique hotel as described just felt a bit stuffy attitude wise and trying to be something it was not. It would be great for overnight stays but not longer. Lovely breakfast. 290 steps to town kept us fit!!b
We stayed here on a stopover from puglia on our way to pompeii and didn't want to have to drive into the madness that is the Amalfi coast! The reception staff were warm and friendly, our room was beautifully clean, an enormous bathroom with a jacuzzi, and a balcony with a fabulous view over the harbour. The room was quite affordable by amalfi standards (€154 for bed and breakfast) but the service is what makes it special. Lovely friendly staff who seem genuinely pleased you are staying with them. The pool area was great - none else was using the pool while we were there so there was a choice of beds, and the view out over the harbour below and the coast was amazing. The town is going through a smartening up building programme and it's definitely going to be a good future area to stay in. Be aware that you are beside a major road, the steps down to the old town are not for the faint hearted and the escalator up closes at 10pm in high season. It was perfect for our one night stopover and catered to an older clientele. It was quiet and out of the way.
