Lovely hotel but it is surrounded by all sides a waste land of rundown disused buildings waiting for a bulldozer to level them. I arrived after dark and went for a walk only to discover we were surrounded by derelict buildings surrounding the Novotel and they continued up the street for 500 metres The only building was still open was a pizza shop. I was unsure but gave it ago and it was a delight. The pizzas were awesome and they sold the best tasting chocolate profiterole with cream i have ever tried. The staff were a delight and it was the cheapest place we eat in Italy by far 30 euro for 4 people. But back to the Novotel. The waitress made me a omelette for breakfast and it was quite nice the room was clean and comfortable and the price was under 80 euro. We used this hotel as a base to explore the Amalifi Coast. This Novotel is opposite the beach but the beach was a building site during our stay.
Wonderful hotel with attentive personnel, great food and many amenities for children. Pool was a bit crowded but then there is just a few minutes walk and you are on the beach. It was a bit chaotic at breakfast but that is to be expected when everyone is to dine at the same time. Also waiters in restaurant was very attentive to our needs as we have a son with allergies.
It is a nice, clean, modern hotel offering really great breakfast. This hotel has a huge underground parking so it is good if you travel by car. Price makes this hotel a great place to stay away from Salerno center. Rooms are spacious, there is an electric kettle. Bathrooms modern and well equipped. There was a shortage of staff when we arrived and the queue to check in took a while. We got a room with mountain view and the view was actually nice.
I stayed here in August with my mother and two sons as part of our 3 week Italy vacation. We enjoyed the amenities and modern features of this hotel. My sons loved the xbox, the computers, building toys, ping pong, and the swimming pool. We enjoyed the bit of down time from the busy sightseeing. The best part was our amazing ocean view from our room. However, the location of this hotel was a downside for us. The lack of restaurants or food options nearby was disappointing. It also was expensive and time consuming to cab to the port for the ferry to see the Amalfi Coast and Capri. If I return to this area, I would not stay here again because of the poor location.
We've made many trips to Salerno visiting family and taking in the sights around the area. We've returned to Novotel many times due to the cleanliness, cost, and pleasant experiences we've had. We have stayed in previous hotels in the area and they have been very disappointing. Novotel is another experience. Modern rooms that are clean and spacious have been consistent. The breakfast is fairly extensive with something for everyone. I would recommend signing up to be an ACCOR member (the parent company of Novotel), which will ensure that you receive a discounted price for the room and your stay. Being a member will also lead to reduced offers that will save money. The parking area is nice but a bit tight. No matter, it's free and the location is easy enough to get to. The location is not in the vicinity of the downtown area so you'll have to drive to the parking lot nearest the Grand Hotel Salerno. Use the parking lot not the hotel (Grand Hotel Salerno). You won't be disappointed with Novotel.
We stayed in this hotel 5 nights. It is excellent to explore the Amalfi Coast. It is located in the end of the Amalfi Coast (Sorrento to Salerno). They offer a pool, but you can use it. I try but was informed is was not available (??). The hotel is located in the edge of the city so it is easy to south to Paestum north to Sorrento. Excellent breakfast and good restaurant. Staff friendly.
The hotel location is good with free parking. Rooms are fine in term of size, beds, bathrooms. Hotel staff are very freindly. Good breakfast. Reasonabe rooms price. We enjoyed our stay. I recommend it.
Great hotel, clean, nice rooms and great breakfast. Close to the port and train station. Great as a base station to travel around the Amalfi Coast , Pompeii and Capri. Helpful staff. Not in the best neighbor but easy to walk or take a short taxi ride to Salerno for great restaurants.
Stayed for 3 nights last week and were basically without wifi the entire stay, you had to go sit in lobby to receive or send any emails. Staff kept telling us that they would reset the wifi which only lasted a few minutes before going out. The female staff were very friendly and helpful but our interaction with the male staff was the complete opposite. They did not seem interested in answering any questions. Other than that, the hotel is nice and the breakfast was good.
This hotel would easily be the worst Novotel I have every stayed at. It is well below par in its facilities and its service. It would be the equivalent of an Ibis Budget hotel in the Accor range. The bed I had was just 2 single beds tied together. I was at the hotel for 7 days and the sheets were never changed. The air-conditioning didn't work properly and the hotel suffers from a huge mosquito problem so you are unable to open the windows. I have noted that this is a known issue that has been raised before. The staff were most unhelpful and rude especially outside the restaurant hours which are very minimal. How a hotel like this does not have a full time restaurant and bar beggars belief. The bar is only sometimes staffed and when you ask for something the staff look at you like you are a big problem. Staff are slow to respond to anything and have a hard time keeping up with requests. The food at the restaurant is well below what you would expect in Italy. The Breakfast is well below average and the pizza bases are pre-made and not fresh. The steak is not fresh and not a sirloin as stated on the menu. The other dishes lack any inspiration and because the hotel is located in the middle of nowhere you don't have allot of choice. The hotel while I was there was overrun by a conference so I was not able to access the restaurant at lunch time and had to eat outside in the mosquito's. The lobby was packed with conference tables and attendees selling goods. A number of times I was asked if I was part of the conference.
