Great hotel, clean, nice rooms and great breakfast. Close to the port and train station. Great as a base station to travel around the Amalfi Coast , Pompeii and Capri. Helpful staff. Not in the best neighbor but easy to walk or take a short taxi ride to Salerno for great restaurants.
Stayed for 3 nights last week and were basically without wifi the entire stay, you had to go sit in lobby to receive or send any emails. Staff kept telling us that they would reset the wifi which only lasted a few minutes before going out. The female staff were very friendly and helpful but our interaction with the male staff was the complete opposite. They did not seem interested in answering any questions. Other than that, the hotel is nice and the breakfast was good.
This hotel would easily be the worst Novotel I have every stayed at. It is well below par in its facilities and its service. It would be the equivalent of an Ibis Budget hotel in the Accor range. The bed I had was just 2 single beds tied together. I was at the hotel for 7 days and the sheets were never changed. The air-conditioning didn't work properly and the hotel suffers from a huge mosquito problem so you are unable to open the windows. I have noted that this is a known issue that has been raised before. The staff were most unhelpful and rude especially outside the restaurant hours which are very minimal. How a hotel like this does not have a full time restaurant and bar beggars belief. The bar is only sometimes staffed and when you ask for something the staff look at you like you are a big problem. Staff are slow to respond to anything and have a hard time keeping up with requests. The food at the restaurant is well below what you would expect in Italy. The Breakfast is well below average and the pizza bases are pre-made and not fresh. The steak is not fresh and not a sirloin as stated on the menu. The other dishes lack any inspiration and because the hotel is located in the middle of nowhere you don't have allot of choice. The hotel while I was there was overrun by a conference so I was not able to access the restaurant at lunch time and had to eat outside in the mosquito's. The lobby was packed with conference tables and attendees selling goods. A number of times I was asked if I was part of the conference.
The hotel is beautiful, the rooms were comfortable and pleasant to the eyes. The front desk staff were very helpful and answered all of our questions, including providing a map and giving us directions to get into the main part of the town. This was the downside to the hotel, the location is not very good unless you have a car (I suspect that persons with vehicles would stay here as there is a parking lot out front). Taking the bus into town was easy enough because we had a local helping us, and does not take long. The breakfast buffet has a lot of options, however not really to our taste from a subjective point of view. My husband and I also had dinner at the hotel restaurant and were very disappointed. The bison my husband ordered although cooked well lacked flavour. The food was quite bland which was unfortunate as it was our most expensive meal during our trek through Italy.
There's not a lot to do in the area, location could be better. Hotel was ok, but can use small changes. Breakfast is basic, but could be better for a novotel. Swimming pool and parking are plus points.
This Boutique hotel was both SUPER comfortable and clean. The 2 brothers that run the hotel are so kind/helpful/caring we felt like we were home that 4 days we stayed in Salerno. The breakfast they make is great (I am actually missing it now as I type) and the staff prepares it themselves. The hotel is also actually nicer than the pics depict. If I go back to Salerno I would for sure stay at Il Reticolo again, it was perfect. Small (but rooms were big) comfortable quaint clean, I never write reviews but these guys were so great I had to.
We stayed only One night buttare everyting was really nice. Our room was spacius, clean and regular Novotel quality. Breakfast was great and various. Persons at the reseption sere kind and really helpful. Lovely pool. The only bad thing thing is that the hotel is little bit outside and you need a car to move.
Hotel is very allocated in order to travel by car. Closest to highway. It´s not so far from the city; but you´ll need transportation. However, the rate, usually, very reasonable, can help to decide for it. Rooms are clean and well sized. It´s possible to enjoy the swimming pool in summer. Staff is friendly and try to help you every time.
Hotel was clean and modern, staff helpful, good location for travelling to Pompeii and Amalfi coast. Restaurant not the cheapest but breakfast superb. Pool area very clean and safe. Really couldn't fault it
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and the overall experience was okay. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and helpful, she gave us all the information we needed to catch a ferry to Amalfi/Positano. From the hotel you will walk 10 mins to the train station and take the train to Centro which takes approx 15-20mins from there it's a short 5 mins walk to the jetty to catch the ferry to the Amalfi Coast. The hotel offers free underground parking which is great and has many trolleys available to move your luggage (no concierge). In the room you will find that the furniture is not new but not old. The mattress was very very disappointing being as hard as a rock and uncomfortable. The air conditioning in the room is underperforming, which meant we spent every night sweating as it was so hot. The view of the pool from the hotel windows is okay however the surroundings is rather unattractive. The room has the basic amenities needed (hair dryer, towels etc). Breakfast offered a decent but average variety. Lunch and dinner at the hotel is overpriced when compared to what you can get in town. The hotel isn't walking distance to main town Salerno, you can either catch a train or drive. The surrounding suburbs of the hotel are less desirable however you feel very safe inside the hotel. The hotel is overall clean. The pool is a great addition, however the hotel had problems with the life guard not showing up meaning guests could not swim until 11am (opens at 10am). Overall okay experience we where let down but the air conditioning and mattress (which are the two major necessities).
