We booked directly with the hotel and were not informed that the Dolphin, recommended also in trip advisor, was closed for renovation and this has just started. Personnel in all departments are very helpful and friendly. You have to know that this hotel also accommodates tourists groups that tend to e.g. "destroy" the breakfast buffet and "book" early in the morning chairs at the beach / pool with their towels (there are many jokes about this mostly German behaviour!) The location at the sea is just beautiful, but you must also be aware that in some rooms you have considerable noise from the air-conditioner systems on the roof of the adjoining building.
A really beautiful resort, with beautiful sandy beaches, 25 minutes from the airport. I was greeted very well although i arrived after midnight, and was upgraded to a wonderful suite. The suite has a beautiful view however gives on the lobby directly, where noises can really bother you, and it was loud. The suite is spacious but very old looking furniture, old style hotel, looks like an 80s Crowne Plaza style. Room service is very good. Staff is very helpful and pleasant.
We (my wife and I) stayed here for a week in January 2018. We booked a Junior suite, and were upgraded. What a marvellous hotel! Right by the sea, with a large garden area, small golf course, fountains and climbing frame area for kids, three pool areas, a pool bar, three restaurants, gym, spa, eccentric but great architecture! The all-day restaurant looks out over the pools and the beach. Great food and a wonderful spread for breakfast and buffet meals. The a la carte menu can feel a little limited after some days there, however, there are daily chef specials. The food is delicious. The restaurant staff are efficient and attentive. The beach is clean and goes on forever. Perhaps more shade could be provided by the beach loungers; but there are plenty of umbrellas and loungers within the grounds on the grass. Also shade from coconut palms. The gardens are well tended. The sea is not too rough, and gentle enough at most times for a good swim. The beach restaurant 'Dolphin' is currently under renovation. I believe it is to be torn down and rebuilt as a two-storey fish restaurant. Barbecue and buffet meals are served under a big canopy on the lawn; each day has a different theme: Levantine, Sushi, Mediterranean, etc. There is a bar by the pool (and half catering to the pool itself), a bar set up for buffets on the lawn, and another bar by the all day restaurant. The manager, front house staff, housekeeping, bartenders and restaurant staff were all most helpful and kind. Only rip off might be the taxis outside the hotel; unless you arrange other transport, there is no other option! In the town there is a bit too see: souks, museums, mosque, and an archaeological site within walking distance (along the beach) from the hotel! We will definitely be returning (possibly in the rainy season when the whole place is greener) to see the hills and the waterfalls, and to be with our new friends again.
This hotel is located on a beautiful snowy white clean sandy beach. January is a good time to visit for some winter sun. Salalah is quiet and if you want the place to yourself it is a good place to visit. Hotel is very well run and has experienced helpful staff who really want you to enjoy your stay. . We enjoyed early mornings strolling along on the deserted beach. The location is great for visiting all the natural beauty of Salalah. Speak to Mr Darshana about where to visit as he is very knowledgeable on trips and he helped us plan our 3 day visit. We had hired a 4 wheel drive and preferred to drive ourselves around which you can easily do if you prefer. Shout out for Mr Kabir who cleaned our room beautifully and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed tennis in the evenings and eating at the restaurant down by the beach.
Excellent location, extremely beutiful beach, very nice rooms with bathroom, excellent services(room cleening, restoran and other tipe of services), very rich and very testy buffet for breakfast and dinner. General Manager Mr. Manuel Levonyan created an excellent, highly proffesional and responsible team and thanks to him we really enjoyed our Holiday here. One more detal, not from every beach hotel you can have amazing view on dolphins and very close to the beach, and every day we have a such wonderful real life picture as well.
We really enjoyed our four day stay in Jan 2018. This hotel is not quite 5 star (rooms need an upgrade for that) but it's good value for money. Beach access is fabulous, food really good and service staff friendly and helpful. Would go back.
Very nice hotel in a beautiful location, really well positioned. The staff was always kind. The restaurant offered a big selection of dishes. They also prepared special meal for us because of allergies problems, waiters were lovely. The new years eve buffet was amazing, lobsters, oysters, prawns, all kind of meats and vegetables. Good all inclusive, we really did not pay anything extra at the end of the holiday, some alcoholic beverages were also included, which is not always the case in arabic countries. But what made the week unforgettable were the trips around Salalah. Highly recommended Ali tour guide Salalah (+968 92959599). Ali, with his nice, clean and comfortable car, drove us to several places, which we would have never found on our own.He is extremely nice and friendly. He speaks English well so He could tell us a lot of stories about Oman and how the people live there, a lot of curiosities about the places, the plants and the animals. He always had an answer to all our questions. A gentleman and a great companion which made us laugh a lot. He definitely enriched our travel for really competitive prices.
Not nearly a 5star hotel! Maybe before y2000. Shabby, less than mediocre service, villa we stayed in was definitely from some other millenium. Management should visit the Anantara hotel nearby to see how a hotel should look like. Nice beach is the one and only plus.
After a 6 days tour in the north we spent 5 days at the Crowne plaza in Salalah. Amazing location, nice rooms, perfect weather, best beach ever and the sea was a dream. We were very happy about the service and the food too. We will definitely consider to get there back again.
the hotel is huge but old and it has never been renewed. food and service very bad. nice landscaping. the beach is beautiful, white and wide, the ocean has clear water, but it is not calm and it is quite hard to bath.
