## Emplacement
Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer, a commune in the Var region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, lies on the peninsula of the same name, linked to the mainland by the isthmus of Les Sablettes. Some fifteen kilometers south of Toulon, it helps to define the harbor. Originally made up of islets, it became a single island in the Middle Ages, l'île de Sépet, before being attached to the mainland in the 17th century. Once a farming town, it has now become a tourist destination, with a marina and a well-preserved coastline, where beaches and pine forests are popular.
