Surrounded by ramparts, the walled city of Saint-Malo was admirably rebuilt identically after its 80% destruction in August 1944. It is a superb ensemble that forms the Falkland city, with its ramparts, castle and beautiful buildings. Not to be missed, the promenade of the ramparts offers splendid views of the sea, the sandy beaches at the foot of the ramparts, the National fort (work of Vauban), the port and the buildings of the city intramuros.Malo, direction the great keep of the castle which houses the history museum of the city and the country Malouin. Visitors can also visit the Grand Aquarium of Saint-Malo, a space entirely dedicated to the marine world. Every four years, the Malouine city hosts the start of the Route du Rhum, a famous solo transatlantic sailing race that connects Saint-Malo to Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe.
