The Otter House - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included!

The Otter House is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath cottage with a beachy vibe and a captivating view of Blue Heron Lake. Spotting gators sunning on the banks, mullet jumping, and the ever-changing parade of birds provides Lowcountry relaxed entertainment all day. The large rear deck is the perfect place to hang out, boasting something for everyone with a raised outdoor lounge, a 6-person dining table, and a bar top offering front row views of the lake and deer that frequently pass through the back yard.

Every detail was carefully considered during a full renovation completed in 2023. Inside you can chef it up in the gourmet kitchen with views of the lake or lounge on the comfy couch. When the day is done, retire to one of three well-appointed bedrooms. Each of the primary and guest bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, and the 4-twin bunk room has a full bath across the hall.

In the morning enjoy your coffee while you watch the sun rise over the lake. Take your pick for coffee: old school drip, Keurig, or Philips 3200 Series Fully-Automatic Espresso Machine with LatteGo + Iced Coffee Maker. As the day heats up, enjoy plenty of ice from our dedicated ice machine in the walk-in pantry. Fill your cooler and your insulated cup, grab a few chairs from our beach gear stash, hop on the rental golf cart provided, and take the 5-minute ride to the beach.

If the beach isn't your thing, you can always play pickle ball or tennis, work out in the new gym, take in any one of several pools on the island (adult, Olympic or Cabana Club), throw a line in at the fishing pier or Bonita Bridge, play at either of the two spectacular golf courses on the island, shoot some hoops at the club or Davis Love Park, horseback ride at Camelot Farms, book a captained ride on the Lil' Fripper or the Fripper II, rent your own boat for the day, or hop on one of the bikes in our stash and go for a ride on the bike path. How ever you spend your day, we hope you relax and enjoy this place as much as we have.

A 4-seat Fripp Island Resort golf cart is included with your stay (excluding monthly rentals). Many guests park their cars upon arrival and use the golf cart as their primary form of transportation. It is a great way to leisurely take in the natural scenic beauty of the island. After dinner, hop on the golf cart and head to the Food Court for some ice cream!

Also included in your rental are up to 8 guest cards. These cards are required for access to all resort amenities including restaurants and bars, pools (opened year-round), golf, pickleball, tennis, fitness center, and more. For current hours of operation please visit our Hours of Operation page on the Resort site as some hours adjust seasonally. Guest cards offer exclusive access to discounted rates on golf and tennis.

Your unit is stocked with a starter set of essentials like toilet paper and paper towels. Springtide Market & Deli (located at the front of the island near the guard gate) stocks all essentials needed for a longer stay as well as groceries, grab-and-go, liquor, beach accessories, and much more!

Getting to know Fripp Island:
Located 20 miles from Beaufort, South Carolina, Fripp Island is a gated, private island, comprised of about six and a half square miles. The views from Fripp Island are unlike others in the Sea Islands, as Fripp is the most seaward of them all.

Take advantage of the many amenities that Fripp Island has to offer. Fripp Island features a multitude of food and beverage options for your enjoyment. With two championship golf courses, five pool complexes, 12 pickleball courts, 6 tennis courts, and three-and-a-half miles of uninterrupted beach, Fripp Island is an unspoiled treasure. The island also has a full-service deep-water marina, bicycle, paddle board, kayak, boat, and golf cart rentals available.

Fripp Island is a designated wildlife sanctuary and is also host to many whitetail deer and other amazing wildlife. You will be sure to see them as you enter the island gates.

*Note with gators in the water and all, it isn't safe to swim, boat or fish in Blue Heron Lake. No worries, there are plenty of other places on the island to do those things.
