Disaster Stay
This was our fifth year vacationing at Fripp, and unfortunately, this was by far the worst rental experience we’ve had.Right from the start, the check-in code we were given was incorrect. After no response from the host, we were only able to get in because a back sliding door was left unlocked.The house itself was extremely bare bones. Each bathroom had only one small roll of toilet paper and a tiny bar of soap—no extras provided. There were also no extra blankets anywhere in the home.The dryer was broken our entire stay, despite being advertised as working. A replacement finally arrived on day five which was our last day—and it didn’t work either (no heat). Meanwhile, the washer used up so much water pressure that no one could shower or wash dishes while it ran. Basically you should not expect to wash clothes or bathing suits here.The worst issue, though, was the air conditioning. It never worked properly, and it was over 80 degrees inside the house every day. I noticed in past reviews that this had been reported a month earlier, so it’s frustrating nothing had been done to fix it before our stay. Other issues:•The fan/light switch in the bedroom didn’t work—we had to use the pull chain every time.•The kitchen was poorly stocked with low-quality items. •With no AC and only heavy quilts, nights were hot and miserable.•We would not stay here again or recommend this rental to others
