This is an aging hot spring hotel type ryokan, but it is well maintained and the staff is outstanding. This hotel is still so popular with the locals that all of their restaurants were sold out for all meals on a Tuesday.
Beautiful view of a lake and mountains from our hotel room made our stay very peaceful and relaxing. Hotel staff were very courteous, accommodating, helpful, and friendly. They made our stay very enjoyable.
The Staff at this hotel/ryokan were so exceptionally friendly and hospitable. Greeted me by name every time I entered the hotel. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. I would stay there again! Also breakfast was delicious!
It was a ryokan and on the lake border
Beautiful , peaceful and quiet
Loved the area and cleanliness
Breakfast delicious too
Room very spacious and clean
The front desk staff was excellent and the manager helped us book our taxi tours and sights
They also recommended a taxi driver who spoke no English but luckily we spoke some Japanese
The driver was very accommodating and took us to places we asked for
Plus the manager help find the town of “Nagaishi and shrine “ which he mentioned to my son and driver
All in all will stay at yoshidaya again when we visit our granddaughter again.
I highly recommend this ryokan

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Property is old but clean. Faces the lake/sea, which is beautiful. During winter it is very quiet so makes the property which is also old, a little scary. Am sure it is different in spring and summer. There is a good little family run sushi and sashimi restaurant within 2 mins walk.

Good home base for your visit to sado!
Very convienient location near port. They offer free pick up and drop off from ferry. Breakfast was good (Japanese style). They cater to big tour groups. We unfortunately got a room close to their banquet halls so our front door and entry smelled like grilled fish. The hotel like all hotels in small towns are a bit dated. Their onsen water was hot and the very soft. The rooftop onsen has a great view of the bay but no facilities. The rooms were sizable and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The view from the room is beautiful with a view of the bay. It’s also in an area with many eatery’s and very convienient to port. Great place for jump off or home base for the island. If you want to save some money do the north one day and south the next. I’ll stay here again. They do desperately need a coffee stand!!!!!!!!!! Or at least coffee in the room.
