Stunning scenery & a hotel with the personal touch

We stayed in Saas Fee for two nights as part of a trip around Europe, which took us from the UK to housesitting at a friend in Genoa. The Waldhotel Fletschhorn was an undoubted highlight of the trip The setting is just stunning. Saas Fee itself was a revelation, with the glacier looming above it, but the journey to the hotel, in the little electric buggy with it’s very friendly Italian driver, was an amazing further introduction for ourselves and our children. The staff at the hotel could not have been friendlier throughout our stay, showing a personal interest (our son received exam results while we were there for example) . The food was magnificent. We ate in the restaurant one night and had breakfast both days. It’s not cheap (this is an exclusive part of Switzerland after all) but it was pretty sensational. The free access to the ski lifts, which comes as part of the hotel price during the summer, was a very pleasant surprise. We took full advantage. All in all we would fully recommend the hotel both as a romantic getaway but also as a place for (well behaved) children.

Beautiful location with an amazing staff

Staying at this hotel was one of the highlights of our trip. Beautiful, remote location and an amazing staff that treated every guest personally. We were able to place specific breakfast order the night before and specify the time we would eat. The food in the restaurant for dinner was also amazing with both presentation and taste. It is not very close to the village but we loved this aspect of the stay.

One of the best hotel experiences of my life! From the friendly staff greeting us and treating us like VIPs, to the excellent food and unbelievable views, I would recommend this cozy getaway to everybody I can!

the stay was like in a Wes Anderson Movie, with the staff as special characters. Everyone was very sympathetic and helpful. Felipe the driver made the transfers fun. The hotel is clean, quiet a welcoming. The sauna, which is big, is also an amazing experience. Finally, the breakfast was delicious and fresh. We recommend!!!
