Parking fee is €11 per night, which adds to your bill. The luxourious room is very very OK, and extra breakfast is extensive. In the middle of the city, with some nice places to eat near by. Staff is efficient, and nice and friendly.
Location close to shopping centre and start of pedestrian shopping street. 10 to 15 minutes from square with nice restaurants and bars. Rooms are small (typical for city hotels) bit small for 2. Bed is good, pillow choice. Big tv in room Premium wifi worked great, also streaming Bathroom small, typical mercure soaps present, no other. Small Hair dryer , not powerfull. Bathroom experience can be improved. Breakfast is excellent for the price asked. Good quality, and lots of choices. Staff friendly and helpfully. I got the room for a very democratic price offer, at checking out noticed others payed higher. For the price i payed (below 120 euro incl breakfast and premium wifi ) this was very good.
We visit family regularly in Saarbrücken, and after trying many hotels, this is our favourite. The Staff are professional and very friendly. The Restaraunt is wonderful, great for Breakfast and also Dinner in the evening. It is rare to find a Mercure with a restaraunt that I would classify as "Fine Dining" bit this is one off those rare occasions. We had dinner here to celebrate a family 40th Birthday. The evening was flawless! Thanks to all the staff for another memorable trip!
My wife and I spent two nights in a Privilege Room that was very large and comfortable. WiFi and AC worked well. Our room had a beautiful view of the Saar River as well. Staff were professional and very friendly. There is a nice patio at the front of the hotel where a cocktail and food could be served. Buffet breakfast was good and included in our room rate, which was probably the most reasonable of all hotels we stayed in in Europe this visit. The hotel is also just down from the train station by about 300 yards or so. The only question we had was why the bar in the hotel was closed for two nights while we were there. We would definitely stay at this Mercure again.
Our room was modern and clean with big windows overlooking the river. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. The dinner in the hotel restaurant was good also- german with a french flair. We had fish and veal. We were very impresed with the staff- friendly and professional. They made a small mistake with our points( we are platinum members of accor group) and send us on the road with a nice lunch to make up for this small misunderstanding We would stay aga
We received a text message early on the day of arrival letting us know that our room was ready for us. When we arrived at the hotel we received a warm welcome (in English which helped us a lot) and as we had checked in earlier online we were quickly given our room key and directions to our room. The room itself was clean, spacious and furnished well in a modern style. The bathroom had an excellent large walk in shower which was powerful, and the temperature was easy to control. Breakfast included a good choice of foods and there was a decent bar menu for a light meal. We didn't use room service but the menu included a good range of items which were reasonably priced. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but again the menu was wide ranging and well priced. Communal areas of the hotel were clean and spacious. Hotel staff were helpful and pleasant. The location was central, but there was hardly any traffic noise due to good sound protection. We would definitely return to this hotel.
Nice and quiet hotel in the city center so you can go shopping and eating easily. Friendly staff at reception. Garage available. Rooms nice and clean. Bathroom a little oldfashioned but clean. Quiet rooms.
I was at the Mercure for a conference. I stayed there because it was very close to the station and public transport. I am writing this review because I was very impressed with the friendliness and the efficiency of the staff. They were very friendly to me but I also noticed that this was the case with all clients coming in when I spent some time working in the lobby while I was waiting for my train.
We stay in many hotels all over the world. I would not say this is a four star hotel. Parking is limited. Extra for parking In the very compact garage. (Thank heavens I didn't have to park or I would not have been able). Parking is a extra cost all over, I wasn't surprised about this. It does seem parking is very tight in these European countries. Luckily my Husband is a great driver and Parker. The Internet was horrible and I got kicked off quite often which was a bit frustrating. Esp. In the pm when trying to catch up with family back in USA. The room as well as bathroom I found quite small and the bed pretty firm which made for not a great sleep. We delt with it as it was only two nights. But for the cost it surely wasn't not what I would expect out of a four star accommodations. The decor is not modern, and seems dated. One huge positive is that it was extremely clean. The staff working all seemed pleasant. Front desk young gentleman on our first night offered restaurant suggestions and a umbrella as it was raining. The location is very good as it's within walking distance to downtown and some other restaurants and a mall. Right across the street is a big building I think they have performances in ? FYI on Sunday's everything is closed except restaurants. They did allow us a late check out which my husband appreciated as he had some business he wished to finish before we left. The restaurant did have wonderful workers/employees who went out of there way to make us feel welcomed. They did have a English menu at lunch but that didn't include the daily specials. Also breakfast side order menu did have description in English which was very helpful. We ate one lunch at the hotel restaurant As well as two Breakfast's. No complaints. Breakfast buffet had generous selections as well as choices of fresh cooked omelet, fried eggs etc. all of an additional cost of course. Both mornings cooked quickly and brought right to our table.
Typical Mercure hotel very close to the city center. Free parking spaces in front of the hotel (parking garage is not free). Our room was fine though the furniture was very outdated. Bathroom was good and bed was fine as well. Use this hotel if you plan to visit the city and only spend your sleeping hours in the hotel.
