It was lovely to stay at a castle. It’s just unfortunate that the current property owners have let the property get so run down inside.
My husband and I stayed at the Ruthin Castle on our final stop in North Wales. We absolutely adored our stay...wonderful room overlooking the gardens, exploring the castle ruins, scrumptious breakfasts (we had the continental breakfast which is great by itself and also supplemented with the spicy dragon sausage!), and very friendly and helpful staff. The castle is located on the edge of Ruthin, a small village with lots of charm. Lots of opportunities for hiking in the area with stunning overlooks on the Clywd Valley.
