Located in the heart of Midtown and on the River! This artfully designed 2-bedroom, 1-bath cabin — offers a private hot tub — blends modern amenities with rustic charm. Enjoy the walkability of this centrally located cabin which is just a riverside stroll away from shops and eateries. Short drive away is Inn of the Mountain Gods Casino and Ruidoso Downs. After exploring the area, return to the cabin and enjoy the tranquil riverfront setting.
A short walk to Midtown offers shopping, attractions, and excellent dining options. After a night out, return to your cozy retreat at Try Slow. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including deer, elk, wild horses, foxes, and even the occasional black bear stopping by to say "hello!"
Please note: We have worked hard to create a safe and cozy environment at Try Slow and although this cabin is located in an area that was significantly affected by the summer flooding of 2024, the village is actively working to restore its former beauty.

Try Slow

What a fun little cabin! My family of 2 adults and 1 child stayed for the weekend at cabin Try Slow. It is decorated in a 70’s style with floral curtains, mustard colored beds, and an old-style recliner. The kitchen appliances fit in with the 70’s era style, but appeared to be new. The oven, microwave and stove worked perfectly, along with the brand new coffee maker. Our favorite part was the record player with plenty of vinyls to listen to. I’ve even ordered a record player now for my house! The hot tub fit us all perfectly, and we enjoyed watching the satellites go by on the cool night. The house is electric heat, but a space heater was also provided. It is walking distance to midtown Ruiodoso with a small creek running in front. The house was clean and tidy when we arrived and the hosts stayed in close contact in case we needed anything. We would absolutely stay here again!!
