Great location / nice home
Nice, comfortable home tucked away in the woods. Nice gravel road running to the home. 1/2 mile further and the road ends at several hiking railheads, which were really nice.
One note...don't take the first turn your GPS tells you to take (one lane & narrow). Go down further to the other end of Jarratt Loop - much nicer and wider road and better approach to the drive way..

Rustic cabin, secluded and peaceful
Very homey, rustic, comfortable cabin. Clearly loved by the longtime owners. Lovely deck, great views, loads of birds. Up high, bordered by Natl Forestland in back. Lots of space between cabins - you're not looking into someone else's house or window when you open your door. Very dog friendly - gates on the deck so it can be closed off. Good sized fenced area adjacent to back door. Very clean, well stocked, good bed, comfy furnishings. Favorite place was the deck - I stayed out there most of the time and enjoyed the cool breeze and beautiful views. Cabin is up high. Lots of trees.

Fell Short of 4.8 Star Expectations
The home has a lot of potential, but has many opportunities for improvement. We were welcomed by a very strong smell of mothballs or septic and were not able to get rid of the odor. There was a dead bat hanging from the couch cushion one morning when we awoke. Lots of bat poo on the beams inside the home, on the elk mounted in the wall, and on the porch. Fresh guano was on the carpet in the loft. There was a stench of natural gas every time we turned on the hot water. Very little water pressure in the shower and it took forever for the water to warm in the shower. The property manager informed us that the smell was from the “tankless water heater emitting exhaust when in use”. Doesn’t make sense to me. It saddened me that people left their garbage and cigarette butts in the front lawn of the property and it took a paying guest to clean up. Bright side-the home is in a beautiful setting with mamma bear and her three cubs nearby. Sadly, this was our first and last vacation to Ruidoso.

Wonderful
Perfect cabin for family tucked in the Forest! All the amenities ans creature comforts we loved our stay. Bonus was a fenced in area for the dogs . Only slight comment was the upstairs toliet was leaking so we shut the water off and notified the owner who said would have someone come out to fix but never did to our knowledge and didnt get a confirmation. So 8 people with 1 toilet for the 2nd half of our stay but understandable just slight inconvenience. Other than that we loved our stay. Beds were comfortable and we could tell this is a special place for the owners. Would absolutely stay here again!!!

A hidden gem!
This cabin was spotless. One of the nicest places I have ever stayed. The upper deck was nice to relax and enjoy the day. Kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook a big
meal. The beds are nice and comfy. Great location away from
the city of Ruidoso but close enought to pop into town. Can't
wait to book it again in the future.
