A first stop on a road trip through France - found on Trip Advisor in the first place, and what a great find. Thought we had made a false start as arriving at around 3.30pm after a hot journey from Calais we found a sign saying that reception was closed until 5.00pm. Not the only place we found on our trip that had afternoon siestas! Fortunately someone saw us and let us in. Our room was comfortable and cool with a nice view of the lovely courtyard, where we had a pre-dinner G&T (with some complimentary amuse bouche) as the sun started to go down - very relaxing. The corridors have peoples' comments chalked on the walls - somewhat bizarre initially, but quirkily attractive. Dinner was high end, from a limited menu, served with great style. Daily specials were available. Breakfast in the morning was also very nice, and made even more quirky by the appearance of a pot bellied pig in the courtyard! Staff were very helpful and friendly, but English is limited. All in all a wonderful start to our holiday and we would definitely return here.
We had a great 1 night stay here on our drive back to London from South of France. Although the outside of the hotel doesn't look very special, inside is a very warm welcome from the manager, exceptionally clean and newly decorated rooms, a courtyard garden for evening drinks and a fantastic restaurant serving beautifully presented food. Whilst the menu is not cheap, it is still very good value for money. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are quiet and cool.We can happily recommend this hotel for a peaceful stop over.
An unassuming building in a sleepy village, but surprisingly welcoming place. Spartan, Ikea-like room decoration, clean, good bed and bathroom. Delicious 3 course dinner on their courtyard summer terrace courtyard, very good breakfast and excellent, attentive and friendly service. Very good value for money
First time to visit this region, so the usual questions: where to stay ? Where to eat ? Found Ici M’aime by accident, but what a surprise ! Very nice helpful staff ! Delightful sympathic owners ! Nice clean rooms, lovely swimming pool in the evening sun, so we could still go for a swim, even in September, in the evening sun. But the really big surprise was the food. OMG the food... each dish is a little picture that taste superb! Each combination a small adventure in “taste land”. The first impression, is that of a typical ‘road’ hotel. But do not let this first impression fool you. Come inside & enjoy... we certainly did.
Very, very good food! Consistent and balanced. Don’t hesitate to take the meal for SOIRÉE ÉTAPE. The deal with the food + nIght + breakfast is great. Breakfast with home made cake is succulent! Hotel decoration recently remade! Nice
We stayed here for five nights with our dog and had a warm welcome. Hotel is modern, clean and well furnished. Very attractive courtyard garden and outdoor swimming pool. The staff are efficient and friendly and speak some English, restaurant serves interesting modern food very well presented. Breakfasts were a basic buffet on weekdays but on Saturday and Sunday were fantastic, a wonderful spread with homemade cakes and tarts and a wide choice of cold dishes. The hotel was full so they obviously cater for weekend guests, the morning we left on the Monday it was almost non - existent ( hotel is closed on this day) The building is situated on a cross roads which used to be on a very busy highway to the south. It is now by - passed by the motorway so stands alone everything else around it closed. The town of Rouvray is almost derelict in parts apart from the Pharmacy, a baker and small grocery shop. So there is nothing to do in the evenings apart from wander up the abandoned main street. We had to drive out every day to visit nearby towns or the Morvan National Park which is most attractive and worth a visit. Recommended for a weekend break when breakfasts are good.
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely place... only 2.30 hours from Paris on our way down to the South of France. The food is just amazing (the chef has got an outsdanting background in some of the best French restaurants) and the staff is thoughtful and always ready to make your stay always better than the previous time. We were there this summer, back few days ago and definitelt returning next time we go down South ! Thank you very much for the warm Welcome and see you soon. TP family
We stayed there in September for one night on our way to Provence. Whilst I am not disabled, I do have a problem walking some of the time. The proprietor ensured that we had a ground floor rooom which also had disabled facilities. Not only that, we were allowed to back our car into the courtyard at the centre of the hotel. Very easy for unloading and loading our baggage. (Lots of it!). The room was modern and spotless and we enjoyed a good dinner in the restaurant. The courtyard looks very pleasant to enjoy a drink in warm weather, and there is also an open air pool for the summer months. All in all a great hotel.
We stayed there for a week with a family party of 5. We had 2 rooms: family room and a standard room. Staff is very friendly, the food: dinner AND breakfast is amazing!! Everything is home-made and of very high level. The pool is great, the location perfect to combine nature and culture! Highly recommended. Very small minor point: no daymenu for people staying a week.
We (3 friends) stayed at Ici M'aime for three nights to visit the Nuits de Cajun et Zydeco at nearby town of Saulieu. The hotel buildings are shaped in U-form round a beautiful garden with chairs, tables, bushes and flowers which create a nice and relaxed atmosphere. The pool is very well cared for and big enough to have a swim. The whole staff is very friendly and casual, they always smile at you and so you feel really welcome. The rooms are big, modern, very clean and tastefully decorated, the bathrooms have rain showers and the toilets are located in a separate cabinet, which has no window and no ventilator (so far no problem). Everything is new and of high quality, especially the beds and the bedclothes! The restaurant is really good with a strong accent on fish, we recommend to have one of the menues, which are tasty and well composed. Breakfast is substantial, you can order eggs at your choice. The only things we would add to be perfect is a little fridge and a safe in the guest rooms. To my mind the quality of a hotel depends not only on the "facilities" it provides, but far more on the impression and welcome-feeling you have as a guest, and this is why I give the Ici M'aime in relation to its 3-star classification the 5 Tripadvisor points.
