Beautiful hotel with a great location. Excellent rooms especially the sauna room with hat or view. Breakfast was pretty good. Very limited SPG platinum recognition. Not sure if I will come back here due to this.

Great hotel, great people and service (except a few days before Christmas when the regular crew seems to have taken off), great everything but.... Where most other hotels are putting in a true effort to also establish a signature restaurant at their hotel, Mainport completely and utterly fails at even making an attempt to do so. Do NOT even go for a bit of a bite to eat, when there are soooo many wonderful places to go around the hotel. It amazes me greatly that Mainport does nothing to attract non-hotel-guests to the hotel, because the hotel itself, the design, the atmosphere is so great.

Mainport is a great hotel in a brilliant location. It’s really close to Witte de whitstraat with lots of restaurants, bars and cafes. It’s also just a stone throw from the Erasmus Bridge, and my room had a great view of the bridge which looked amazing at night. Just a 10 minute walk to Markthal as well. I think every room has a massive (spa) bath, which was great to come home to after exploring Rotterdam in the freezing cold. Comfy beds, beautiful design, lifts with a view, friendly staff. I highly recommend this hotel!

First of all, the hotel is nice, modern, clean, and centrally located. It has all the facilities that one could expect from a 5-star hotel, but this is where it ends. For paying 500 pounds for two nights, one might expect top-shelf hospitality. I don't blame the staff, this hotel has bad management. The staff just does there job, nothing more, nothing less. This, unfortunately, is not enough. - Check-in was not welcoming. After the staff had checked in some guests she was busy with her computer for a couple of minutes without a simply informing us that she could help us in a minute or so. We just stood there. - Bathrobe had dirty stains on the sleeve. We asked for a new one and left the dirty one in the corner for housekeeping. They took the new one and left the old stained one again. - No blow dryer in the room. We asked for one and it took 45 minutes and two phone calls to reception to get it. This while we really needed it to go outside. The second call to staff was answered extremely rude. - Food wasn't warm when ordering room service. - Most annoying part, 45-30 minutes before breakfast ends the food wasn't refilled. No cheese, no fruit, no juice, some eggs weren't prepared for us (egg benedict). Staff was basically finishing up while guests were still sitting. This was a total waste of money. - We sat in the corner of the bar late in the evening to have some drinks. The staff was refilling the cutlery boxes with clean ones and it was extremely annoying as they basically through cutlery into the boxes for 10-15 minutes. Tables and chairs were dragging, not lifted, which caused unpleasant sounds. - There is no sink in the toilet and the light turns on automatically. Especially at night, this can be unwanted and the light stays on for 4 minutes or so. - Literally, no staff has ever greeted us while walking through the hotel. - Public transportation tickets were sold-out - When ordering a taxi, no one was there to greet the taxi driver and inform us the taxi was ready. I wished management would see the hotel from the viewpoint of the customer. Perhaps its the Dutch attitude towards hospitality; they just do there job, but a hotel runs with great management and team effort. Communication is key. We just came from a 3 week trip from Vietnam and even cheap hotels offer service that outperforms this hotel's service.

Had a wonderful stay on multiple occasions, friendly staff provides perfect service, great rooms, superb Spa and breakfast buffet. Rooms on the harbor side have an stunning view on Rotterdam. Swimming pool can get a bit crowded.

Nice hotel just at the waterfront with a nice view over the maritime museum and the Erasmus bridge. The room meets expectations and there is a good restaurant downstairs from the lobby. Also the watertsxi is available just in front of the hotel.

The location was good - very easy to reach Rotterdam Centraal either by tram or by walking. Loads of wonderful places to eat/drink within walking distance. The staff are very friendly and give helpful recommendations about what to visit during your stay. Check in and check out was swift and easy. I didn’t try any food in the hotel so can’t comment on that but the cocktails in the bar were good. The room itself was spacious with great views and a huge bed. Very comfortable with easy to operate controls for lighting/air con. The bathroom was lovely - especially the jacuzzi bath! Can’t fault the room at all. Overall, I feel that you definitely get what you pay for with this hotel. I would stay here again.

We were there for 4 nights. From the moment we stepped into the lobby. We felt welcome. Friendly and helpfull staff. One of the mornings. My wife had birthday. And when we came down to breakfast the came with birthday greetings for her. And made her morning speciel. All service. That alone gave us the best hotel experience ever. The beds are also out of this world. All in all. Highly recommend this hotel We are coming back

Very good modern hotel. Great waterfront sauna room and nice breakfast available for extra charge. The only downside is not much shower gel or bubble bath in a room for 2 people with the Jacuzzi bath.

Modern hotel in a good central location. Staff are excellent, friendly and helpful Rooms are spacious even at the lower end of the room choice, and beds are incredibly comfortable. Room was immaculate and clean, with an excellent bathroom with plenty of space and a bath! Dinner was good, as was breakfast albeit a little expensive, but the quality is excellent. Will hopefully return and be my first choice for Rotterdam
