A very warm hostel where you meet other travelers for drinks and conversations. Super friendly staff and the common room is a treat. They have activities also in case you don't have a plan for the evening. But overall, nice, friendly and welcoming
Had an excellent stay at this hostel, was only here one night but had a great one at that. Rooms were spacious, clean and the beds very comfy! I had a late night and slept well past the check out time the next day but the staff were so cool and chilled out about it! There a neat little bar in the place too! Shout out to all the staff for being so much fun, Ross the Irish fella especially! Cheers guys! Definitely staying here again! :)
I was happy with the free breakfast provided of toast, museli, yoghurt and a hot drink. The rooms in the old house are quaint. The only really annoying thing was that they don't have female & male bathrooms on every floor, so I had to go to a different floor to use the bathroom - inconvenient in the middle of the night! I also got bitten by mosquitos while sleeping as the windows had to be open because it was so hot, but there's no screens. Providing fans would be helpful. They are pretty inflexible with checking in even slightly early (eg 15 minutes early was no good) - I think it's on principle. They could be more flexible with this.
This is a great hostel, as you would expect as one of the "Great Hostels of Europe". Clean, neat, organized, good beds, plenty of hot water, good wifi, good breakfast, friendly people. They seem to do a lot of activities in the hostel. I was in an 8 person dorm, a little crowded but okay, men's bathroom is on the second floor, women's bathrooms are on the 1st and 3rd. Seems to work okay.
Easily accessible by tram, this hostel provided a welcome roof over my head for a stay in Rotterdam. Check in is friendly and seamless, the rooms and bunks fine and the facilities all you would need. The bar in the hostel is a good place to grab a coffee or a drink before heading out, or returning from an afternoon excursion. The quirky décor is a feature of the hostel, whether it be the dogs painted around the walls...or a recipe for pea sea etched on the wall by my bunk. Toast and coffee is offered free in the morning and the bathroom and toilet facilities are fine, if perhaps a little sparse. A very pleasant stay. thank you
My friend and I spent two days in Rotterdam and we stayed here. The atmosphere was great as well as the staff. They have happy hour, a nice Free walking tour, and nice activities downstairs. The rooms are big enough and the building has a great historic importance
Very pinky bedroom at the 3rd floor in the "love room" with a little cut of tea and a giant bed! Nice night in perspective. No noise because it is near a small street. Take time to seat on the old chair and take time to enjoy
Hostel Room Rotterdam was a good place to stay. The room was like a standard hostel, nothing that stood out. The restrooms/shower were fine as well, but also pretty standard for a hostel, though you may have to go to a different floor. Staff was lovely and helpful in helping us make a walking tour path in the city. Also, there was a traveling band who performed the evening I was there- wonderful performance and really made the stay memorable!!
I had a blast with ROOM. The best thing about this place (beside wonderful breakfast, cool events and interesting rooms designs) is staff! Solveiga made sure to make my check-in fast and nice. Samuli showed me around and did his best to keep the guests entertained. I'll always remember Pablo's smile, which never fails to cheer you up. Miguel helped me a lot when another guest took my bed and managed to keep everyone happy in this situation. The temporary volunteers were always willing to hang out with visitors and explore the city together (special shout out to Veera and Manon). I was really unhappy to leave this hostel! Miss you already, ROOMies.
I stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hostel is very well-presented and has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, with themed rooms, a comfy downstairs area, handy kitchen with good amenities, and friendly and approachable staff. The downstairs foyer has a bar with regular happy hour (19:00-21:00), events and even live music. The bar is open to all, so it's a great opportunity to meet locals as well as hang out with fellow hostel guests. Big shout out to Samuli, Pablo and Shiela who were especially good company, although all the staff were a pleasure to deal with.
