Good placed hotel near Dordrecht and Kinderdijk (Windmills museum). There are nice, big and comfortably rooms. Good quality restaurant, specially for dinner. There is also outside pool and it is heated.
The hotel is very calm. We stayed in a family room and the sleep quality was perfect. The rooms are old, furniture and bathrooms need to be renovated, fridge was smelly, shower not perflectly draining water. Mattresses and pillows were ok. The personal was prompt. The internal restaurant is of good quality, but the service a bit slow. It is well positioned for visiting Rotterdam, the mills etc. We enjoyed our stay despite the lacks.
The hotel is situated in a small and beautiful town, nit far from a water channel. We can see polders with cows on a walking distance. Rooms were very big and clean, but furnitures and decorations were a bit old-fashened. Good internet connexion (wi-fi).
I haven't visited this hotel for around 25 years but thought it would make the perfect base for the weekend we wished to spend in Holland. The hotel is in a large village, but very peaceful and not too far off the main road, it's very convenient for the world famous Kinderdijk windmills and only an hour away from the Keukenhof Tulip gardens we wanted to visit. The rooms are fairly basic but large enough and comfortable, good bathrooms. Excellent breakfast is available and food in the Hotel's restaurant was good. Staff are all very friendly and helpful and the village is worth a walk around, there are a couple of restaurants if you wish to eat outside the hotel. One thing that I had remembered from my previous visit was the mosquitoes - be prepared for these and bring something to deal with them getting into your room!!!!
If you arrine in a cool day, it is perfect. the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, the location is nice and the food is good, but if it is a hot day - beware! I didn't expect a 4 star hotel not to provide AC. We came for 5 nights and it was hot, in fact hard to sleep some of the nights.
Very friendly staff and a very nice location to have a wedding party. One thing that was really annoying was the very unorganized parking lot, however, I do not think you can hold the hotel responsible for the lack of parking skills of the guests.
Perfect stay for short visit... On the way to Kinderdijk! And don't forget Schoonhoven. Super friendly staff, great food !, good room and breakfast. Also a small but oh so agreable sauna. We did have a great time.
I would like to say this is a nice hotel in a very nice location. Great for business. The staff are all very pleasant. The service nothing to much trouble. The food we had dinner excellent. Breakfast fantastic great selection. Lunch King prawn salad out of this world. bathroom clean and modern the bedroom clean and tidy. The problem that myself and my Colleague had mosquitos in his room lots that had been squashed on the walls. In my room lots on the walls squashed also on the net curtains so they were blood stained. The problem for me I did not see this until the morning after breakfast. Also the bites did not come out until I walked out of the hotel. I have approx. 15 bites my colleague has 9 bites. So may I make a suggestion fumigate the rooms. leave complimentary mosquitos spray in the rooms. Clean the walls and curtains of dead mosquitos. Then get pest control in. As the management must know they have a major problem. Once this is done back to being a great hotel.
With parking at Kinderdyke often difficult this hotel provides an excellent place to stay so you can get to Kinderdyke early before the crowds and cruise parties - and also park! Hotel is a bit 'faded glory' and could do with a spruce up and in that respect it was probably a bit expensive for what it was was. But Kinderdyke makes up for that. We also ate at the restaurant - not much else around and it was als0 perfectly good.
We stayed here for one night in a double room. Arriving at the hotel is good and lobby is ok although a bit out-dated. Room was very out-dated and I believe not much had changed since the early 80's. Lots of brown in the bathroom and old taps and shower. It was spacious and almost clean. The room had a bit of mixed smell of cigarettes and air refresher. Bed was old but matras and pillows were ok. We found some extra pillows in the chest. We did not have diner in the restaurant but it looked modern and ok. Breakfast was good and good selection of options. Staff is friendly and painfully aware of the state of the hotel. On the flip side, renovation has started but progress is slow (we're being told). The more expensive rooms are fully updated so there is hope.
