We have been staying at wylie court over the past 7 years and we still love this place. Love the room options especially the executive spa apartment. Outdoor pool is awesome with bbq area too. Very private, lovely and quiet, affordable, clean and tidy. Best accomodation in Rotorua by far!!!
I have visited Rotorua once or twice a year with friends and we loved the motel. The studio apartments with private spa are so clean and tidy, REALLY tidy. every time we went out for dinner or day trip around town, the room was clean, new towers were hanging, bedding had been replaced. Their attention to cleanliness is superb. If I recommend it? YES. A few constructive criticism which could make this a 5 star accommodation: The private spa in the back porch was beyond hot, it must have been 45-48 degrees in a all occasions Ive stayed there (im a spa owner, so I know well when it's 38, 40 or 42 degrees which is the maximum heat for human comfort even in the coldest days of winter), we resorted to dumping buckets of cold water in it to cool it down. The shower was extremely weak, almost at dripping speed in all occasions. Overall a great place to stay.
Stayed here in September 2017 on a family road trip around the North Island. We found the room to be comfortable and warm. We have kids and made them sleep down stairs as we weren't keen on them sleeping in the loft bedroom when sometimes they are prone to sleep walk! The hot tub in the courtyard was nice to relax in though it was a bit too hot for me to stay in it very long. The pool out front was great and nice to swim in though the tiles have built up minerals and many are missing. Reception very welcoming. We did have someone in the room next to us and it was very noisy from them cooking dinner and running up and down the stairs.
The motel was no great shakes. The place was beautiful especially the Govt Gardens. It’s nice n peaceful on a bright day. There is so much of Gio Thermal activity in n around Rotorua that you feel as if you are sitting on top of active volcano. Lady Knox was interesting. The park in the middle of city with mud pools was nice. Lady Jane’s Ice cream took the cake. The best part of Rotorua is the Redwood forest walk.
I was actually appalled at this place, in its time it was probably a very nice hotel but it is run down and filty!!. Apart from the size of the place it had nothing else going for it The carpets are so stained as is the lounge suite. The bathroom was not clean, with dust on skirting etc throughout the apartment. The fan in the shower was full of dust and when you turned it on it made a terrible noise you couldn't use it. The windows were dirty and the glass door to room spa had bird poo all down it. Out in the spa area was very inviting and the spa was full of rust spots. Would not stay again, so many options in Rotorua for the same price and cheaper which are closer to town and nice units. We also asked about catching a bus and were told no need to use a taxi (only to find a bust stop out the front). Then asked about bars/restaurants in town and were told there aren't really many in Rotorua ..... what... there are lots especially Eat street is a perfect spot for drinks and foods
Following a friendly check in at Wylie Court Motor Lodge direcedt to our Executine Two Bedroom Apartment. At $200 per night and this description - was expecting something a bit special. Upon entry to our room first impression was of a darkish slightly tired room. The main bedroom a good size and bright, the second bedroom was small with three single beds squeezed into it. Had all the necessary facilities in the unit, the complexes heated pool and the units spa were greatly used. All staff real friendly but time for a bit of a freshing up. As described in the title, comfortable is the best way to describe our unit. Only real gripe was the lack of soundproofing between rooms. Noisy neighbours may as well have been in our unit!!!!
We spent three lovely nights at the Wylie Court. The staff were friendly and we felt welcome on arrival. The rooms are nice - modern inside and very clean and tidy. We had a spacious family unit. The motel surrounds are very clean and tidy and the pool was lovely and warm. We would happily stay here again!
Was driving from Wellington to Taupo and our accommodation fell through (some online glitch). There was no other accommodation in Taupo and, after driving around for an hour hoping to find something, we decided to head to Rotorua hoping we’d have more luck. We came across Wylie Court Motor Lodge in our google search and gave them a call. Bernie was super friendly and very helpful. He’s just had a cancellation and managed to squeeze us in. When we arrived everyone was very chatty and personable. The room was great (studio room), we even had our own plunge pool in a private garden area. I would definitely stay again.
This was a nice place to stay as it was only a 5 minute drive to town. Beds were comfy and clean. Only thing was the ceiling fan in our room was quite noisy do couldn't sleep with it on. Also the off putting thing was that the spa had mould in it that was not able to be cleaned out as it was in grained into the spa so didn't use it. The outside pool was great though. I would stay here again just ask for a different room.
We stayed two nights and were very happy with our room and the hotel location as well as the facilities. Our room was spacious with a smaller single bed in another area. The highlight was the pool which we very much enjoyed. It was a short drive into town so that the area was quiet.
