Don't believe the advertising. This is a grotty place. A missing tap on the not quite hot spa bath a plastic pillow, and the stink of air freshener over smoke. Lots of faded fake flowers and a receptionist who probably can't speak English.

We came from UK and were amazed when we went to check in and the only person in charge did not speak a word of English. She had to use a translater on her phone to ask if we wanted milk. It took 5 minutes to explain that we wanted 2 room keys. Asking for the key to the spa was even worse. The room was fairly clean and towels were clean and changed every day. The bathroom had rusty handles, the shower flooded, and there was a burnt plug socket in the kitchen which was a bit worrying. No possibility of complaining when no one speaks English!

First ever review, felt obligated to leave some feedback. This place was horribly unclean, from mould everywhere to stray hairs (yes, that kind) in the bed. I’ve attached some photos but they can’t really demonstrate the level of grub.

Very average place to stay. Sheets and towels were clean, however the rest of the unit was not cleaned to a high standard. There was a leak in the bathroom from the upstairs bathroom and a hole in the ceiling in the main room.

The best thing about this place was the location. Spa in room was not nice with a build up of muck. Wanted a relaxing night in the spa after trekking for a few days. Service was far from friendly. Only my second review and I am already sounding negative. Cant say something is good if its not. Real let down .

We stayed for one night in the one bedroom unit. Family of 4. Location was okay and easy to travel around. We were in the unit closest to road and there were many trucks that drove past and would shake the whole room each time. Nice to have a large private spa pool but would have like the water to be warmer. One person had to use the sofa bed in the lounge which was uncomfortable even for a sofa bed. Woke up with a sore back

Firstly, it was a very strange check-in. It didn´t feel welcoming at all. Just a quick "we have charged your credit card and here are your keys". The room is spacious and is in a good location and that´s about all the good I can say about this place. There were sounds all night long in the room. It first started when the room next door started using their spa bath at 8.45pm all the way till 10.30pm. The sound of the pipes were so loud, it was ridiculous. We didn´t want to personally disturb the neighbours, so we called reception to ask them to assist and no one picked up the phone. From the moment we arrived until we left, there were dripping sounds in our walls. Not something that you want to hear when you´re trying to sleep. You can imagine how this kept us up throughout the night. The kitchen drain kept gurgling in the night. This was very unsettling!! When taking a shower in the morning, there was no soap in the shower soap dispenser and the bathroom soap smelled awful, like it was rotten. Truly horrible experience.

We stayed 3nights. Family of 4. Comfty but noisy being right next to main road we stayed in the 1st unit, spa bath was not a spa bath also not thermal or has jets. water went cold halfway through filling bath just a huge bath out side kids loved it treated it more like a swimming pool :) not much nice things to say about this place except the towels were changed everyday even though we ddnt leave them on th floor, and the tea and coffee was replenished everyday lol.. The guy at the reception was very polite and helpful. Will definitely not stay again unfortunately.

Location isnt too bad, easy to get around from here if you have a car. Rooms are good but unfortunately they are not cleaned to a high standard. The floors in my bathroom look like they never get mopped. House keeping left a bag of rubbish in my room and beds not made. When I asked about the daily house maid services as listed on their website I was told I need to specifically ask for beds to be made. If they improve on their housekeeping and customer service it would be much better.

Units 15 16 17 18 are small 2 bed townhouse units with access off a side street.Quiet and ideal for 2 adults and 2 children. Reviews regarding quality of this motel are generally fairly accurate. Certainly not 4 star. Our unit had a few issues in terms of cleanliness ( liberal amount of cobwebs around the ceilings, grouting on bathroom floor dirty , plenty stains on carpet ) whilst lights in lounge not working and couldn't get the wall heater to work. The spa for these units is in an enclosed shed. The mechanism to aid removal and recovery of spa cover was broken making it very difficult to put it back on. In summary given the large number of motels in Roturua there is no real reason to stay here unless you really wanted a 2 bedroom unit and nothing else was available
